The Director, Facilities Maintenance provides strategic and operational leadership for plant operations within the acute care hospital. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and highly reliable physical environment that supports continuous patient care, clinical excellence, and organizational goals. The Director serves as a key partner to hospital leadership, ensuring critical infrastructure systems-such as utilities, emergency power, HVAC, medical gas, and life safety systems-operate at peak performance. This position requires a proactive, visible leader who can balance regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and team development while responding effectively to the dynamic demands within an acute healthcare setting. Be an ambassador for Vanguard Resources, while a champion for safety, at all times! This is a salaried/exempt role. The Director will have oversight for multiple site locations/buildings.
Position is bonus eligible.

The Facilities Maintenance Technician:
Must successfully pass criminal background check.
Must successfully clear a 10-panel pre-employment drug screen.
Must agree to & receive required health screenings and vaccines.
Must have a valid/unexpired state-issued drivers license; in good standing with a clean driving record; along with reliable transportation to get to and from work
Possess a great attitude, eager to learn, dependable
Have ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in crawlspaces, hot/cold conditions
Construction or mechanical, electrical or plumbing experience is a plus, but not required
OSHA 10 certification - not required, but nice to have
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to read and hear to interpret documents and announcements such as safety rules and alerts, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Be comfortable working with computer/technology.

Role Overview:
The Chemical Plant Operator II is responsible for taking daily inventory, unloading and loading raw materials and finished goods, as well as helping in any of the other operational departments. Chemical Plant Operators are also responsible for using and maintaining the equipment used to blend chemicals.

What You'll Do
* Lead Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) and NFPA 99 surveys in hospitals and VA medical centers.
* Identify deficiencies and develop actionable recommendations.
* Support clients through accreditation, SOC updates, and Life Safety documentation.
* Review construction drawings, renovation plans, and life safety diagrams.
* Partner with internal CAD support to produce life safety drawing updates.

What We're Looking For
* Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field.
* At least 5 years of experience in Life Safety Code or fire protection engineering.
* Strong working knowledge of NFPA 101 and NFPA 99 (required).
* Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Vanguard Resources, Inc. I
The ideal Candidate will reside in Texas, preferably within a close proximity to our Corporate Office in Spring Branch, TX (78070), however, all qualified/experienced Candidates will be considered, regardless of your physical location (home base).

What You'll Do
Lead Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) and NFPA 99 surveys in hospitals and VA medical centers.
Identify deficiencies and develop actionable recommendations.
Support clients through accreditation, SOC updates, and Life Safety documentation.
Review construction drawings, renovation plans, and life safety diagrams.
Partner with internal CAD support to produce life safety drawing updates.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field.
At least 5 years of experience in Life Safety Code or fire protection engineering.
Strong working knowledge of NFPA 101 and NFPA 99 (required).
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Ability to travel to client sites across many states; up to 75% - depending on home location
Preferred Skills
PE license (Fire Protection or similar).
Experience with VA or TJC Statement of Conditions programs.
AutoCAD experience (
preferred
but not required).
Healthcare occupancy life safety experience.
Possess a current, valid State-Issued Drivers License with clean driving record
Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

Role Overview:

Brownsville, TX - Plant Operations & Maintenance Dept Vanguard Resources, Inc., (VRI) is actively recruiting for Full Time Facilities Maintenance Technicians, (entry-level) I or II.
Hospital Facilities Maintenance Technician Level I or II -; new to this work/industry or 1+ years experience preferred: Starting hourly rate: $15+ p/hour (depending on skills & experience)
Shifts as assigned: assigned shift will be either days (1st shift): 8am - 4:30 pm or evenings (2nd shift): 4pm-12:30am. If shift change is required, employee is provided several weeks notice. Consistently scheduled 40 hours per week!
Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday, unless scheduled for weekend work (Sat & Sun). If scheduled for the weekend, days off will be Friday & Monday. Required to work 1 weekend per month, but this is subject to change (typically every 3rd weekend).
IMPORTANT: all technicians are required to be scheduled as 'On Call' every 2 months (1 week outside of scheduled work hours). Only LOCAL candidates will be considered, as relocation assistance is not budgeted for this position.

Position Summary:
Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the facility in good repair. Minor maintenance and repair duties are the primary duties. May perform preventive maintenance (PM) duties to all physical structures of facilities, complying with all safety codes. Assists the team with plumbing, mechanical and HVAC maintenance. * Hangs pictures and shelving, as needed
