Robert joined Optum in November 2017, following its acquisition of The Advisory Board Company where Robert served as CEO since 2008 and Chairman since 2013. Under Robert’s leadership as Chairman and CEO, The Advisory Board Company more than quadrupled in size to serve nearly 300,000 leaders in over 5,500 hospitals, health systems, and universities worldwide. He guided the firm’s strategy, expanding beyond its research core into data and analytics, and services and expanding beyond its health care roots to build a large education business (EAB). In 2017, Robert led the successful sale of the company for $2.6 billion. The company’s mission, values, and unique culture were top priority for Robert.
