Before joining Variant Bio as their Chief R&D Officer, Tom held leadership roles at GSK, Merck and Wyeth/Pfizer, and personally contributed to the discovery and development of 15+ development candidates, 4 IND’s and 3 marketed products across several disease areas, most notably immunology and oncology. Tom also served as the CSO of the ATOM Consortium, a public-private consortium to accelerate the discovery and development of cancer therapeutics. Tom has a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and was an NIH-supported postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University.
