Position Summary
Perform noninvasive vascular diagnostic testing per IAC Accreditation Standards specific to veins and arteries, including but not limited to upper and lower extremity venous, carotid, abdominal vascular, and pulse volume recordings. Report critical findings to ordering physician and/or vascular surgeon. Function within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization.
Responsibilities
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, physicians, nurses, and other health care staff
* Verify patient identification, obtain pertinent health history, and explain procedure to patient clearly
* Use advanced judgment to determine if the procedure is sufficient for proper diagnosis or further imaging procedures are needed
* Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
* Assists in all aspects of training new staff and vascular ultrasound students
* Maintain registry status through self-motivated education
* Take part in re-accreditation process
Requirements
* Successful completion of an accredited VascularSonography program.
* Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
* Basic Life Support Certification

Sonographic Doppler Venous Waveform Analysis of the upper or lower extremities for the evaluation of venous insufficiency or reflux. 7. Job Description
Seeking a skilled Sonographer to join a team focused on patient-centered care and a culture of mutual support. The Sonographer performs routine and complex ultrasound imaging procedures using high-frequency sound waves.
Due to the nature of ultrasound, the Sonographer must tailor each examination to the patient, adjusting equipment settings and locating optimal imaging windows while recognizing and diagnosing pathology. This role requires significant technical skill and diagnostic knowledge, setting it apart from other imaging technologies.
Examinations are performed independently, under physician supervision, with peer collaboration as appropriate.

Night shifts: Sunday 9pm7am, Monday through Wednesday 8pm6am

The Senior Cardiovascular Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiac examinations, utilizing equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical pathological and functional data of the cardiovascular system. They are recognized as clinical experts in the field of Cardiac Sonography, performing high skill level ultrasound exams, participating in the lab accreditation process as well as the quality improvement/assurance process.

Consistent performance (at least 50% of the time) of all high skill level exams performed within the lab; exams include but are not limited to Echocardiograms for the evaluation of Mitral Valve Clip and/or Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacements, Stress Echocardiograms, LV/RV 3d Volumes and LV/RV Strain Analysis
Regarded as a subject matter expert and mentor for other Cardiac Sonographers. Serves as a professional and technical role model for staff.
Assists in teaching students, residents, fellows and new employees.
Assists with workflow and scheduling and rescheduling of exams when necessary.
Assists with equipment service needs (Preventative Maintenance and repair) when management is not present, or as delegated.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of clinical indications and all procedures performed.
Independently perform all cardiovascular diagnostic examinations within ARDMS scope of practice.
Independently perform high skill level cardiovascular ultrasound exams
Completes findings for each exam. Confirms the necessary information is present according to IAC standards and lab protocols.
Creates recording of findings, per lab protocols, for analysis and interpretation based on the disease state of the patient presented for testing.
Detects malfunctions and disease states of patient during diagnostic exam, determining anatomy and variability from patient-to-patient to optimize the ultrasound tools required to obtain technically satisfactory images.
Acts within ARDMS scope of practice, utilizes independent, professional judgment to adapt procedure plan to optimize exam results.
Clearly translates data from exam into written report for physician interpretation.
Consults with physician regarding preliminary findings prior to the physician's interpretation, including special considerations and measurements. Contact covering physician if urgent findings are present.
Assures timely scheduling of urgent/add-on exams.
Provides education to the patient and/or family pertaining to the exam.
Ensures proper maintenance (wiping/cleaning) of equipment and willingness to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Evaluates and recommends new products and equipment when discovered by attending conferences or reading journals.
Travel to satellite locations and clinic sites may be necessary to perform job duties
Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems.
Attendance, promptness, professionalism, attention to detail, cooperativeness and collaborative relationships with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.

* Contacts referring physician (or other appropriate medical personnel) for clarification prior to performing an exam if there is a suspicion that the exam order is incorrect.

* Completes assigned tasks in a time frame appropriate for the situation.

Evenings
4:00pm-12:30am
Monday-Friday 8 hour shift
40 hours guaranteed
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Graduate from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography, either college affiliated or hospital trained- REQUIRED
Will accept either ARDMS or ARRT Sonography- REQUIRED
Meditech EMR experience- REQUIRED
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

BLS (AHA)
