Aircraft Mechanic I
Location - Pax River, MD
Perform routine aircraft maintenance functions
Must demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines and component parts
Operate aircraft towing equipment in towing operations.
Maintains aircraft fuel, oil and hydraulic systems.
Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance
Must be able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job
Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems
Performs troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems, including fuel, oil and hydraulic systems. Overhauls aircraft components and sub-components
Services ground support equipment. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on all ground support equipment
Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' rotary wing aircraft experience
Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173 Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification
Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment
High school diploma or equivalent--General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and base access.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, pull and manipulate 50lbs independently when needed.
Must be able to climb on ladders if needed.
Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.
Position may require working in a confined workspace.
Position my require use / exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
FIT for Duty Physical is required.
May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.

What You'll Do
* Work independently and with little to no supervision to troubleshoot all conveyor material handling systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and fire protection systems
* Execute departmental and operational goals
* Assist in the design, layout, and reconfiguration of existing systems as necessary
* Utilize CMMS system to create and maintain the work schedule and workflow
* Work regularly on aerial platform lifts, boom/snorkel lift, and powered industrial trucks (reach, order picker, stand up, pallet runners, stock chaser, etc.)

What You'll Need
* Minimum 3 years experience in industrial maintenance and/or combined certification(s)
* Proficient reading and comprehending electrical schematics and using associated tools such as volt/ohm meter, etc. (120,240,480VAC, 24VDC)
* Ability to install, maintain, & troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders
* Proficient using hand & power tools and electrical testing equipment including PLC systems
* Experienced safely using warehouse equipment such as order pickers, pallet jacks, forklifts and aerial lifts
* Proficient using computer systems and CMMS software
* Will be required to wear applicable personal protective equipment including arc flash protection and safety shoes
* Ability to regularly bend, lift, stretch, crawl and reach, engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists and stand and walk for long periods

Responsibilities:
Initiates and completes work-orders and requisitions and documents all critical and or pertinent information on a routine basis
Ability to use and become proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software (Tabware)

Respond and report to work during off hours when emergency repairs are required and ability to be on call

Job Overview
The Fuel Distribution System Mechanic receives, stores, transfers, logs fuel data. The Mechanic may inspect and assist with the repair of pipelines, hoses and other connecting systems. The Mechanic will gauge tanks for water, temperature and fuel levels, check pumping systems for correct operating pressure or unusual noises and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned systems.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Observes and interprets readings on gauges, meters, and charts which register various aspects of fuel maintenance and delivery operations.
* Adjusts controls to insure safe and efficient operation and to meet demands for fuel.
* Cleans strainers, filters, fuel tanks and distribution lines removing corrosion and re-painting surfaces.
* Lubricates pumps, and replaces gaskets, seals, and fuel filters as needed.
* Corrects pumping misalignment and makes repairs to equipment; following prescribed methods.
* Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective repairs.
* Completes all job-related paperwork and forms.
* Uses a variety of hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments.
* Coordinates with other personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies, and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task.
* Performs on call, preventive and emergency site maintenance, as necessary.
* Performs periodic stock inventories and prepares material requisitions.
* Operates Government or company-owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.
* Supports and assists other department staff and trade groups as needed or directed.
* Adheres to the established CFS safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
* Ability to work overtime as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
* High school graduate or equivalent GED.
* Five (5) years of experience in operation of fuel distribution systems including delivery, repair and maintenance.
* Hold or obtain a Class A and B Fuel Certification (Underground Storage Tank - UST) within 90 days.
* Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
* U.S. Citizenship.
* Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
* Valid state driver's license and suitable driving record.
* Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
Travel may be required.

Must be able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs.
Position involves long periods of standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling on aircraft structure and around aircraft for maintenance functions.
Position may require working in a confined workspace.
Position my require use / exposure to fuels, oils, hydraulic fluids and cleaning solvents.
Position is located in a high noise area within an aircraft hangar / flightline environment.
FIT for Duty Physical is required.
May require DOT and Respiratory Physicals.

Must be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
