Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the NOAA Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) program mission-critical platform that delivers real-time weather data, forecasts, and decision-support tools to National Weather Service forecasters nationwide. This role directly supports the operational availability, modernization, and continuous improvement of AWIPS, ensuring forecasters have reliable, high-performance systems to protect life and property. What You'll Do: Support technical planning, systems integration, and verification & validation (V&V) activities for total systems. Perform cost, risk, supportability, and effectiveness analysis to ensure system performance and sustainability. Conduct systems analysis across the full lifecycle, including concept development, design, fabrication, testing, installation, operations, maintenance, and disposal. Translate customer and product requirements into end-to-end system solutions that balance technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to evaluate design options. Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
