Peraton is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the NOAA AWIPS program - the enterprise weather forecasting system that processes critical data and enables National Weather Service forecasters to protect lives and property across the country. With AWIPS operating in over 150 field offices, maintaining strong cybersecurity posture is essential to system reliability and national readiness. In this role, you will lead accreditation, security controls, and continuous monitoring for this mission-critical platform.
What You'll Do:
The Cybersecurity Engineer, in conjunction with the Cyber Lead, will build out the technical tasks, populate the SaFE/Agile backlog, and drive technical solutions for Cyber Security against, DevSecOps strategies, implementation of RMF, gaining and maintaining system Authorizations to Operate (ATO), secure as you build concepts, and conduct defense-in-depth activities using established tactics, techniques, processes, and tools.
Works with multiple Approving Organizations (AO) on Enterprise-wide security settings and postures alongside Software/System Architects, Data/Space Scientists, Systems Engineers, and other technical leads while establishing / adhering to industry security standards and implementing best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Min 8 years with BS/BA, Min 6 years with MS/MA, Min 3 years with PhD
4 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
Cybersecurity experience supporting the software development lifecycle, gaining and maintaining ATOs using RMF, security incident and event management (SIEM), and incident response.
Must have knowledge of RMF and NIST processes.
Must have experience in developing and maintaining Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms), Security Concepts of Operations (SECONOPS), and Standard Operating Procedures in support of RMF.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications:
Security+, CISSP, or similar certification

The Airborne Systems Business Area, part of the Defense Sector at Leidos, currently has an opening for a cleared Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer to work in our Beavercreek, OH office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Air Force Research Lab, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, and other DoD missions. Your role will be to support our diverse portfolio of programs through a combination of software design and development, hardware interfacing and integration, laboratory experimentation, ground and flight testing to deploy cutting edge, next generation solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineer with Leidos, you will use MBSE methodologies and tools in a challenging environment to explore how future weapons perform as part of a larger fighting forces using detailed analysis. Exercise existing tools and models and create new models to represent new and emerging systems. This will be a synthesis of MBSE tools like NoMagic CSM to
* Capture, decompose, and trace system level requirements
* Analyze, define, and refine architectures, and interfaces.
* Develop system structure and behavior
* Collaborate with government stakeholder, software, test, mechanical and electrical teams
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in one of these areas: systems engineering, software engineering, test engineering or related field.
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must have an active DoD TS clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
* Experience working in a SIL environment.
* Experience with SysML, preferably using Cameo/MagicDraw.
* Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally from informal one-on-one discussions or in a small group environment.
* Ability to work within a dynamic work environment, ability to handle multiple tasks at once (multi-task).
Preferred Qualifications
* Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
* Familiar with Agile Methodologies, preferably SCRUM or Kanban.
* Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket.
* OCSMP (OMG Certification for Systems Modeling Professionals)
* Experience with executable SysML simulation capabilities and scripting languages.
* Experience with MBSE methodologies such as Magicgrid,
* Understanding of military CONOPS.
* Experience leading other systems engineers.
