State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) Vendor Management function (VM Team) is seeking to hire a market data strategist and sourcing manager as part of our effort to build out the SSGA VM Team in 2022. The successful candidate will coordinate with SSGA business (e.g., investment, distribution, SDPR ETF, operations) on market data procurement engagements, implement the sourcing roadmap, and effectively managing market vendor relationships. This candidate will report directly to the SSGA Head of Vendor Management and will be part of the team working closely with other State Street stakeholders (e.g., Alpha services, Corp Third Party Risk Management and Procurement office) as a key contributor to set up a robust market data vendor management program with fit-for-purpose and efficient data sourcing, vendor service excellence and continuous cost controls.
As Market Data Vendor Manager, you will be responsible for:

Market Data Vendor Sourcing

Establish strong relationships with SSGA business partners, evaluate business/system/data requirements and underlying processes/ interfaces/technologies, and transform business data requirements to vendor offering and sourcing needs Work with business stakeholders to develop and implement vendor strategic plans, provide thought leadership, and both consultative and execution support across the life cycle of vendor market data procurement for a wide variety of market vendor engagements, while identifying and realizing cost-saving opportunities (e.g., perform demand analysis, assess vendor offering, identify sourcing strategy, handle all aspects of the contracting negotiation and execution) Manage market data contracting process end to end including demand analysis, vendor offering, draft and review contract negotiation terms, and identify and realize cost-saving opportunities Maintain knowledge of new and existing vendor products, emerging trends, understand how vendor's products are used across the SSGA organization, and promote the effective use of market data Help enforce market data governance through the education of data usage within SSGA and help ensure effective consumption and overall compliance with market data vendor agreements


Procurement Support and Vendor Oversight

Works with designated Procurement liaison to support and expedite Corp Procurement managed SSGA market data engagements in flight, and monitor engagement status/issues to support timely execution Develop deep knowledge of State Street procurement standards and processes and help further streamline vendor onboarding and contracting process in line with the State Street operating model Serve as the market data vendor procurement SME and the escalation contact for SSGA business to address business inquiries and facilitate new procurement engagements Proactively manage market data vendor relationship and implement robust vendor oversight program, include monitoring of SSGA critical market data vendors, managing vendor relationship and vendor risks, drive service improvement, and achieve vendor products and cost optimization, under the State Street Third Party Management Office's vendor management requirements and standards

BA/BS Bachelor's Degree required; law degree and market data contracting experience highly desirable 10+ years of experience and broad knowledge in market data space Broad knowledge of the asset management industry and business operations Experience with managing vendors/partners relationship, negotiating contracts, performing market offering and commercial structure analysis, sourcing vendors, and executing service level scorecard Experience in the analysis, design, development, enhancement and implementation of market data vendor solutions will be a great plus

Education/Experience: Bachelors' degree in public health, business or related field or equivalent experience. 4+ years of healthcare management experience, preferably in vendor managed care or the health insurance field. Experience with reporting and analyzing data preferred. Strong Excel skills and working with a variety of software data programs preferred. Project management experience a plus.

Map procurement processes and documentation to Meriplex’s model and develop an analysis to determine synergies/gaps in alignment.

Consolidate and manage supplier contracts and data as well as determine and execute on the opportunities for supplier and contract consolidation, renegotiation, or termination.

Manage reports, dashboards, and statuses and provide clear and timely communications to internal stakeholders, management, and M&A team.
Develop transition and consolidation plans for merging supplier accounts. Analyze whether audit processes and risk management oversight are aligned. Find hidden costs such as termination fees, payment terms and price increases, within contract terms. Organize and summarize potential procurement synergies connected to pricing, terms, and discounts. Work closely with integration team and project managers to ensure customer and supplier contracts are migrated to Meriplex’s ERP systems. Develop a thorough understanding of Meriplex and the supplier guidelines along with all compliance related requirements. Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the various status levels and what’s needed to obtain higher levels with our supplier/partners which correlate to discount %’s, availability, and accreditations. Understanding of the technology market and how distributors (Ingram, SYNNEX, D&H, etc.) work with manufacturers (Dell, HP, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.). Establish and foster relationships with suppliers to ensure attainment of organization objectives.
Qualifications:
• ERP system experience with Purchase Orders and Sales Orders, preferably ConnectWise
• 5+ years of experience sourcing a variety of goods and services
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level attention to detail
• Proven ability to apply standard processes, and manage multiple priorities
• Strong MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Work Schedule/Travel - Standard Meriplex business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with the ability to have a flexible schedule due to work volume. Ability to travel up to 15% may be required based on requirements and location which might be outside of the Houston metro area.
