This VP, Finance & Controller will manage the company and subsidiaries' accounting operations and ascertain good organization financial health. This position oversees the core financial functions, including accounting, reporting, compliance, and operational finance, with the alignment to strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership and technical expertise to manage financial activities and partner closely with the CFAO on strategic initiatives.
Principle Duties And Responsibilities
Oversee and prioritize the activities of the finance and accounting staff. Responsible for the general ledger, cash and investments reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, collections, revenue recognition, grant fiscal administration, and fiscal agent services. Ensure timely and correctness of all general ledger entries by compiling and analyzing asset and liability account information; maintain fixed asset register and depreciation records. Review cash reconciliation and maintain proper cash flow analysis with expected funding needs. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial transactions while ensuring compliance with GAPP and regulations.
Prepare all financial reports; provide monthly detailed analysis of financial activity to team and department management; including proper tracking of respective revenues and expenses. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, efficiencies, and cost reduction opportunities.
Review collection status of all accounts receivable. Identify past due accounts and direct collection efforts; ensure adjustments to sub-ledger to correct account information; prepare collection tracking reports and special analysis requested by donors, management, and volunteers.
Protect the organization's assets by establishing, monitoring, improving, and enforcing internal controls and procedures. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and standard operating procedures. Optimize financial systems, tools, and processes to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Prepare organizational annual and semi-annual budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommend revenue and expense plans.
Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors. Oversee regulatory reporting, including all required planning and compliance and ensure proper preparation of all tax and other legal annual requirements. Support fiscal aspects of grant funding.
Responsible for the timely annual financial report. Maintain proper communication with fiscal agent entities' management.
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering professional growth and accountability.
Responsible for the supervision of subordinate employees that includes training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining and directing tasks. Has authority to hire, transfer, promote, compensate, or terminate subordinate employees or recommend such actions.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification, and additional certifications, are a plus.
Experience Requirements:
10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a track record of success in leadership roles.
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial analysis, and risk management principles.
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
Experience with financial systems and ERP platforms, with a preference for implementation and optimization expertise.
Previous experience in a nonprofit organization or a similar industry is highly desirable but not required.

Education & Experience
Current Florida Esthetician License (required).

Position Summary
Our company seeks an experienced paralegal to serve in the Homeless Legal Rights Unit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the attorneys and take primary responsibility for case files.
They should be capable of acting with a substantial degree of independence and responsibility in this professional capacity.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to analyze and draft legal documents.
Proficient with technology.
Tracking deadlines.
Overseeing administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and answering calls.
Ability to prepare and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets.
Ability to perform legal research using online/electronic databases.
A demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve is necessary.
Ability to prioritize work activities.
Ability to willingly accept directions from Supervising Attorney and other persons with whom they work
Exhibit a spirit of team work and cooperation in completing job responsibilities, and have a work record which reflects dependability including availability on a prompt and regular basis.
Good written and communication skills.
Entry Level, will train.
The ability to speak more than one language is a plus.
Education & Experience
Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required.
Bachelor's degree.
Certification in paralegal studies a plus.
