1940

1970

Since the early 1970’s, Sherwood Gibson, one of Ventana’s two original founders has been assembling a wealth of bicycle specific product knowledge.

1974

Gibson began in 1974 as a BMX competitor in Northern California.

1979

Grogan arrived at the University of Arizona in 1979.

1985

1985-91: Developing, Manufacturing, Marketing Automated Tissue-Tes ting Systems

Thomas M. Grogan, M.D., founded Immunodiagnostics Inc. in 1985.

They made the crossing in 10 days, and landed (León Portillo, 1985) “at a bay that was baptized as San Felipe, the current Bay of La Ventana.”

In 1985 he built his first mountain bike frame of steel.

1987

VENTANA USA began manufacturing and supplying the window fabricator with architectural shapes for vinyl windows in 1987.

1988

From its humble 1988 beginnings in Sherwood’s one-car garage in the alleyway behind his house to today’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in rural Rancho Cordova, Ventana has grown up in Northern California.

1990

The Ventana team succeeded delivering to the marketplace in 1990, the well-received Cone Peak.

1991

Gibson and Blalock remained partners until 1991 when Gibson became sole owner.

1992

Revenues for 1992 exceeded &# 36;1 million.

1995

From 1995 onward, the company launched at least one instrument per year and developed numerous diagnostic r eagents.

1996

After Ventana went public in 1996, hospitals, clinics, and r esearch labs quickly discovered the company and began to make use of its revolutionary and constantly improving technology.

1996: The company holds its initial public offering; purchases BioTek Solutions.

1997

Ventana also p urchased its main competitor, California-based BioTek Solutions, for almost $19 million in 1997.

1997: Henry T. Pietraszek replaces Danehy as president and CEO .

1998

1998: Ventana acquires Biotechnology Tools, Inc.; acquires the key assets of Oncor, Inc.

2000

In 2000, Ventana started developing the engineering design and equipment specific to vinyl fence profiles.

2001

Also in 2001, the com pany moved to new headquarters in Oro Valley, Arizona.

2005

By 2005, the company expected to reap revenues of just under $200 million.

2017
