    The Manager, Real Estate Tax will support the Director, Real Estate Tax to ensure the lowest possible real estate tax is assessed. This position will primarily be responsible for deal-underwriting. The position will also ensure all tax parcels have been reviewed for assessment appeal potential, and such recommendations from third-party consultants have been documented in the tax software system. The Manager will prepare notes for management of any appeals materially affecting the company's financials. The Manager will also provide support for the accruals process and annual property tax budget process. It will require effective communication with other departments with Ventas, as well as third parties. Essential Functions: Prepare RE tax underwriting estimates for target properties, transfer tax estimates, and closing documents. Collecting & maintaining property tax data in the tax software system; including appeal recommendations, appeal status, hearing results, and final values. Collaborate with Real Estate Tax Analyst to prepare annual RE tax budgets for the various business segments. Collaborate with Accounting Manager, Tax with monthly property tax accrual review. Special research projects originating from various Ventas teams; Tax, Legal, Acquisitions, Accounting, and Asset Management.
