**Job Description**
**Pay Rate:** $35.00 to $50.00 per hour.

**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for operating and maintaining all equipment associated with the individual's primary service line. The ability to operate and maintain other service line equipment is strongly desired and will weigh heavily during annual review and further promotion within OIS.
+ Performs Hazard Recognition Awareness to remove all hazards from the workplace.
+ Responsible for setting up and performing his/her job.
+ Promotes the company's business by conducting work assignments in a professional and safe manner.
+ Reports to work on scheduled time. If unable to show-up for assigned work, notifies supervisor no less than 24 hours in advance of scheduled time. Wears a company pager or near person at all times.
+ Assists in project planning of jobs including on-site inspections, writing procedures, specifying equipment and chemicals, etc.
+ Communicates the status of the assigned job to division management and customer representatives (before, during and after the job is completed).
+ Maintains a working knowledge of all services and product lines provided by the division.
+ Recommends changes and improvements to services and product lines based on job experiences and observations.
+ Assists in performing field maintenance on company vehicles, equipment and tools, on a daily basis.
+ Assists Technician(s) in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
+ Responsible for hookup and breakdown of equipment using proper tools and procedure.
+ Reads work orders for assigned job and designates proper hoses, chemicals and other equipment required for assigned job. If unsure, seek the advice of Operations Manager.
+ Inspects equipment, hoses, connection, pumps and general work area prior to starting job. Corrects deficiencies which may cause accidents, injuries, lost productivity or which are consistent with the work order or customer's requirements.
+ Operates all company equipment when authorized and qualified to do so in accordance with company rules, plant rules and work orders.
+ Completes service log, service receipts and other paperwork associated with the work performed. Returns completed paperwork to designated supervisory personnel.
+ Wears the personal protective equipment prescribed by posted signs, established operating procedures, written instructions, and work permits. Also, wear additional protective equipment specified by the customer's Safety Department. Enforces use of required safety equipment by technicians and subcontractors.
+ Cleans up work area and equipment after work is complete. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean workplace, change room, locker area and customer's plant.
+ Ensures equipment is properly decontaminated at end of the job.
+ Responsible for safety under his/her authority. Reports all accidents, near misses and/or injuries involving self, company vehicles or persons under supervision. Promotes safety through own pro-actions and work activities.
**Qualifications**
**Education/Experience/Background:**
+ High School Diploma/GED is required.
+ Approximately 1½ years industry experience.
+ One (1) to Four (4) years of experience in wastewater/water treatment operations.
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:**
+ Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Skilled and qualified in primary service line.
+ Good equipment knowledge.
+ Good communication skills, written and oral.
+ Perform work in enclosed (confined) space, under close supervision.
+ Pass an annual written examination during annual review period.
+ The ability to operate and maintain other than primary service line equipment will be considered for advancement to Crew Leader.
**Required Certification/Licenses/Training:**

**Job Description**
**Position Purpose:**
Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of water treatment plant. Operational start-up and shutdown of treatment facility, conduct analysis of water quality to determine chemical dosages and operational adjustments, record keeping and report preparation, maintenance of equipment, and grounds and housekeeping of facility.
**Primary Duties/Responsibilities:**
+ Shift operation of the water treatment plant which ensures compliance with state and federal regulations through routine monitoring and adjustment of plant processes manually and/or through computerized control systems.
+ Conducts routine testing of water and records test results and maintains the plant log book with accurate and timely entries of activities.
+ Evaluate all data and information pertaining to the proper operation of the facility and notify Project Manager of any abnormal conditions.
+ Maintaining the facility treatment units to include settlementation basin, filters, sampling equipment, and pumps. Identify and report the need for repairs to water treatment plant equipment such as pumps, valves, motors, blowers, and chemical feed equipment.
+ Monitors all charts, gauges and other operating equipment and maintains calibration of plant instrumentation and on-line analyzers according to the frequency specified by permitting agencies and/or the manufacturer.
+ Calculates chemical feed rates, calibrates chemical equipment and adjusts chemical feed rates as indicated by lab tests or by direction of Water Plant Manager to comply with water quality requirements as established for the plant. Adjusts or alters chemical treatment of plant processes as required.
+ Assist with shift assignment changes due to leave time.
+ Participate in training activities and education efforts in pursuit of additional certification levels.
+ Customer service skills.

+ Chemical ordering, receiving and handling.
+ Responsible for maintaining property in good order to include housekeeping and grounds-up keep.

Position starts at $32.17/hour with an increase to $33.31/hour after 6 months.

Overview
The Texas Water Utilities team has an opportunity for a Water-Wastewater Operator II. This role is under general supervision, performs routine tasks related to the operation of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities. Maintains plant compliance with EPA standards and state water Commission. Performs general cleaning of grounds and buildings. Ensures plant safety and sanitary requirements.
Work Location and Schedule
This position will travel between service areas near Sanford, NC. Schedule is Monday through Friday. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required
What You'll Do
Essential Functions
Operates and maintains water and/or wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal environmental protection limits.
Monitors and samples well and groundwater upon entry to the system. Adjusts treatment levels when below-standard variances are detected. Samples water prior to exiting system.
Detects and reports atypical conditions, such as: damaged, malfunctioning and tampered meters, detecting and reporting leaks, high/low consumption, exposed wiring and other safety hazards.
Conducts ongoing repairs to equipment, or shuts down equipment for more extensive maintenance and repair, activating alternate equipment as needed. Requests services of outside maintenance vendor for major repairs and overhauls.
Activates pumps, valves and other processing equipment to move water through various treatment processes. Disposes of waste materials removed from water in line with Company procedures and government controls.
Assists Lead Operator with emergency procedures in the event of overflow or spill of chemicals or unpurified water. Follows safety protocol.
Adds chemicals to water by predetermined formula. Advises Lead Operator when minimum inventory levels of these materials have been reached.
Reads and interprets meters and gauges on central control panel, or at individual machines or stages in the treatment process. Adjusts controls as needed. Retrieves computer reports on treatment process.
Prepares reports and maintains logs on meter readings, tests, chemical and equipment usage, and all other recordkeeping requirements; maintains various Company records and other reports as required by the state.
Back-washes filters and basins; handles chlorine in a safe, effective manner; assures proper working order of chlorine-related equipment.
Cleans and maintains treatment plant, pumping stations and wells; prepares and paints equipment, walls and floors.
Ensures regulatory compliance and adherence to Company policies and standards.
Maintains a safe working environment and reports safety concerns to Area Manager.
Constant, independent travel daily between worksites on Company time.
Must work On-Call in rotation as scheduled; responds to emergency situations as required.
Completes facility and vehicle inspections, along with related follow-up.
Installs and reads water meters.
Acts as liaison between customers and customer service; provides on-site customer communication.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless utility service.
Ensures that facilities and grounds are kept clean and orderly and comply with Company standards.

Purpose of Role
The Water Treatment Support Specialist is responsible for supporting the Miura branch offices, factory, and Miura representatives regarding maintenance, production, and sales inquiries, while advancing Miura's water treatment capability inside and outside of the boiler room.
This includes research of current and emerging water treatment technologies, determining internal and/or external sources of products, the creation and implementation of support documents, traveling to customer sites for events such as hands-on training and maintenance support, reviewing water analysis reports, and answering inquiries from both maintenance and sales.
