Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Operator I maintains water/wastewater treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in water/wastewater treatment facilities to purify water to meet permit and operational requirements. The position requires the ability to accept supervisory feedback, including constructive criticism, without dispute and to consistently apply that feedback to improve performance. A willingness to perform both complex technical tasks and routine, repetitive duties with equal professionalism is expected.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
Collect and test water and sewage samples.
Record meter and gauge readings and operational data.
Operate equipment to purify and clarify water or to process or dispose of waste.
Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, filter beds, and other work areas- including cleaning and housekeeping assignments as essential and non-optional functions.
Inspect all equipment on a regular basis.
Follow U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations.
Ensure safety standards are met.
Receive and respond to supervisory direction, performance evaluations, and corrective criticism promptly and professionally, applying required changes.
Work Environment:
Spends 100% of the time in operations environment.
May need to work outside in inclement weather conditions and drive company vehicle to perform duties. May be required to work alone and follow lone worker procedures.

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
High School education or equivalent with the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally (operational, process, safety and quality instructions). Must have the ability to perform basic math equations. Associate's degree in a science or technical area strongly preferred.
Typically holds or is working toward an intermediate level water and/or wastewater treatment certificate. (Requires minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory agencies at the site).
Two to five years' experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water/wastewater treatment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.
Must consistently demonstrate the ability to operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets under general supervision.
Must demonstrate ability to efficiently operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses, and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
Must have the ability to diagnose process and mechanical problems in single or multiple unit processes, troubleshoot basic equipment and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for process control.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Must accept supervisory direction, including corrective feedback and criticism, without argument or avoidance, and apply changes immediately.
Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

Job Description:
Manage, Plan, Organize, implement, and control all activities of the project or proposal per Schedule.
Manage diverse project teams in proposal preparation and subsequent project execution for EPC Water treatment projects. The diverse project teams consist of teams from Process, engineering, procurement, logistics, estimating, project controls, safety, fabrication, construction management, and material management.
Review Contracts and create a consolidated list of exceptions and clarifications.
Develop a Risk Register and review risk mitigation with management during the proposal stage.
Generate EPC budget and Maintain overall project budget and schedule for proposals and projects.
Check and comment on P&IDs and General Arrangements.
Review engineering documents and drawings.
Review Global sourcing plans and RFQs.
Prepare budgetary and firm price estimates.
Coordinate & consolidate document preparation: client proposals.
Review the RFB to EPC contractors
Change management with Clients as well as with vendors/sub-contractors.
Correspondence with customer.
Attend customer meetings as required.
Work closely with customers and develop a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Communications w/vendors and installation subcontractors to evaluate competitive quotes & negotiations.
Internal communication with all departments, including global offices.
Work autonomously without constant guidance.
International as well as domestic travel as required (could be extensive at times).

Skill Requirements:
Prior experience in the preparation of proposals involving oil-water separation equipment, bar screens and grit chamber, conventional and advanced biological treatment processes (aerobic/anoxic/anaerobic activated sludge, fixed film, Moving Bed, Sequencing Batch reactor, Membrane Bioreactor) and sludge conditioning/dewatering equipment is required. Experience of designing wastewater recycle treatment systems comprising membrane filtration and reverse osmosis unit is desirable. Knowledge and experience in wastewater treatment design for municipal, Hydrocarbon Processing Industry (HPI), steel, semiconductor & electronics, renewable fuels and other chemical industrial applications is required.
