Responsible for substation engineering and consulting services for clients across the US and internationally. Main responsibilities include creating electrical protection & control and/or physical layout design deliverables. Projects range in size, complexity, and voltage class from small distribution facility upgrades to large transmission projects. This position can influence the future of the resiliency, reliability, and economic operation of the electric grid.
+ Principal responsibilities include the design of high voltage (13kV-500kV) electrical substations. Areas of design and responsibilities include leading and executing the following:
+ Preparation of proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plans.
+ Prepare engineering cost and labor estimates and schedules.
+ Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material.
+ Protection and control design including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring and relay panel wiring.
+ Preparing calculations and reports for engineering studies (grounding, lightning protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
+ Preparing equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.
+ Coordinating design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, others.)
+ Providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
+ Regularly meeting with and corresponding with clients or outside personnel.
+ Performing quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
+ Providing short term field support during construction.
+ Supporting business development and marketing initiatives.
+ Other areas of involvement may include relay settings, 3D/intelligent design, or industry/professional technical committee involvement.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
+ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred required.
+ Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Summary of Position Functions
The Controls Engineer will quickly gain an understanding and working knowledge of Veregy's technology products and building automation systems. The engineer will utilize this understanding to design, implement, and optimize building automation systems that control various commercial systems including HVAC, lighting, access control, etc. The engineer will optimize control sequences to reduce energy consumption and increasing facility wide energy efficiency. The engineer will also be responsible for managing project implementation which may include managing sub-contractors, project scheduling, progress reporting, and budget management.
Essential Position Functions
Assist with and manage building automation implementation projects by leading progress meetings, supervising subcontractors, ordering material, and managing budgets.
Assist engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systems
Write and optimize building automation control sequences to reduce energy consumption in increase facility efficiency
Assist project teams with the creation of design and construction documents as they relate to building automation systems and other Veregy technology products
Troubleshoot low voltage circuitry in the field and verify functional requirements are met
Respond to and rectify customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely manner
Experience in project management.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.

JOB SUMMARY
Designs new, high voltage electrical distribution systems (EDS), low voltage wiring harness products and makes improvements to existing products. Evaluates products and processes for cost efficiency and reliability. Works with other members to ensure that production is completed in a timely manner. Ensures that products, processes, and documentation conform to specifications and customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Designs electrical distribution system (EDS) products to meet all customer requirements and internal design standards, including high voltage wiring and smart junction boxes.
• Designs high Voltage Cables and Connectors and work directly with their suppliers
• Designs low voltage wiring harnesses and battery cables
• Generates a Bill of Material (BOM) and prints for product designs.
• Coordinates with Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to assess product and processing costs and ensure that program cost targets are achieved.
• Coordinates 3D designs to package components and create schematics - has full design responsibility.
• Define retention, convolute, tapes.
• Provides proposals on cost\/weight reduction to enhance productivity.
• Coordinates all program status review meetings, design review meetings, and harness trial builds with customer, manufacturing, and purchasing.
• Attends customer meetings and build events.
• Maintains a program open issues list to track all issues (i.e., design, system, manufacturing, purchasing, and customer) which are related to the program.
• Reviews the open issues list with the customer, manufacturing, and purchasing.
• Coordinates program timing, PPAP, and master sample reviews.
• Supports future business opportunities by working closely with the Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing groups.

We are seeking a full-time electrical engineer or electrical designer with at least 3 years of experience to support the growth and expansion of our business. The position would start as a "electrical
engineer/designer" and potentially progress over time to "project manager” or “project engineer." A brief description of the position is as follows:
Responsibilities:
• Position will involve electrical design for commercial, office, retail, healthcare, and other project types.
• Apply design knowledge in power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems, and equipment specifications and selections.
• Preparation of schematics for various systems.
• Collaboration with all disciplines to achieve completed coordinated design and reviewing the work of others.
• Performance of on-site investigation to confirm existing conditions.
• Developing familiarity with current electrical codes and standards.
• Forming relationships with equal level personnel of other disciplines (architectural, electrical, structural civil, etc.) and manufacturing sales representatives.
• Becoming familiar with and preparing general and electrical specifications.
Skills & Abilities:
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
• Familiarity with system specific materials, components, and systems.
