Monarch is Google's planet scale monitoring system that supports both internal Google systems and external GCP's operations. We monitor the internal state of applications, system services, and other hardware metrics. Our codebase is primarily C++. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and supporting this subsystem of Monarch, including addressing production issues as they arise, often working closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) to address them. In addition to core algorithmic changes, you will contribute to API/interface and configuration changes, as well as deep architectural changes to some of the Monarch subsystems.
