James “Jim” Cloutier

James Cloutier studied Business from 1975 to 1979 at Nichols State University in Thibodaux, La. In 1979, he accepted a position as Personnel Manager at DAPTCO Marine Services. One year later he was promoted to Vice President. He left DAPTCO in 1982 and co-founded SeaCo International, a company engaged in marine transportation services. In the same year, he founded LEASCO Services, Inc, which was a leading provider of dockside support and construction services to the marine construction industry. LEASCO was also a pioneer in refurbishment of offshore structures and developed the first yard dedicated solely to the decommissioning of offshore structures. The company was sold in 1993 to Southern Holdings. In 2004, Jim purchased Nondestructive & Visual Inspection. At the time the company had only about 30 employees and now NVI, LLC is quickly approaching 400 employees. Jim is also a member of NABA, ASNT, and API.
