What you will be doing:
The Vertex Comparative Medicine department is seeking an energetic, results-oriented individual interested in a career in Laboratory Animal Medicine to complete a summer internship in our 27,000 sq. ft., AAALAC-accredited vivarium. The state-of-the-art, rodent-only vivarium is in Vertex's flagship R&D site in Boston's Seaport district and supports early-stage R&D studies to help Vertex achieve its mission of developing transformative medicines for patients with serious and life-threatening diseases.
Animal health and wellbeing is considered essential to scientific rigor and data integrity in our facility. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in laboratory animal medicine in the biopharmaceutical industry. Some familiarity with the use of animal models in biomedical research and the anatomy, physiology, and behavior of laboratory rodent species is preferred. The co-op will take place In Spring 2026 and will be under the direct supervision of the Comparative Medicine Vivarium Operations Manager.
Vertex has expanded into new cutting-edge treatment modalities over the past two years, and consequently, the Animal Care & Use Program has grown significantly to accommodate a variety of new animal disease models in addition to the traditional use of animal models to evaluate the safety and efficacy of novel therapeutics. With the rapidly expanding variety of animal models and increased number of personnel working in the vivarium, we would like to refine elements of our vivarium operational program for animal research subjects. The goal of the refresh is to enhance operational efficiency and consistency in our workflows, provide evidence-based metrics on animal health and welfare to stakeholders, and ensure seamless communication with scientists and study directors, while maintaining the Vertex Comparative Medicine tradition of compliance and attention to animal welfare.
Objectives:
1. Lead studies validating operational, sanitization, enrichment, and sustainability protocols to standardize the macro- and microenvironment, contributing to research reproducibility, meeting regulatory requirements, and animal well-being
2. Provide microenvironmental, behavioral, and operational data to support site operating practices; maintain the vivarium in a regulatory ready state and for scale through VX-2030 including poster presentation to in vivo stakeholders
3. Depending on candidate experience and as needs within the vivarium arise, contribute to the following under SME mentorship:
a. Research model development,
b. Culture of care,
c. 3R's initiatives,
d. Genetically engineered mouse model (GEMM's) data collection and integration
What you will need to succeed:
* Enrolled in an undergraduate or associate's program in Biological sciences, or another related field
* 6-12 months of experience in laboratory animal research and/or teaching setting preferred. Familiarity with basic laboratory rodent techniques, anatomy, and behavior is preferred. · An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
* Certification/Licensure: AALAS technical certification (ALAT, LAT, LATG) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification are useful but not essential; students working towards the requirements to achieve a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree will also be considered.
* Other: A proven track record of collaborative work practices and strong oral and written communication skills, and a familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, is strongly desired.

What you will be doing:
The intern/Co-op will be working in the CGT Process Development department. More specifically, the intern/Co-op will be a part of the DS3 scale-up team with the goal of scaling-up the T1D CPI process to enable the successful tech transfer to VMC and LPO.
Potential duties will include:
The key deliverable is to develop a scale-down model at the benchtop scale that can accurately replicate the hydrodynamic and mass transfer conditions of a large-scale bioreactor for the T1D scale-up program. The project will require intern/co-op to design and perform lab-scale experiment focused on agitation, gassing, and mixing. The intern/co-op will work with CO2 probes, DO probes, biomass probes, metabolite analyzers, and other analytical instruments.
What you will need to succeed:
Enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced degree program in Chemistry, Biological, Biomedical Engineering, or another related field, having completed coursework in transport phenomena, thermodynamics, reaction design/reaction engineering, and advanced numerical analysis/mathematical methods.
Ideal for a senior who will be completing their bachelor's degree or a graduate student.
Any additional experience in data science/computer science is a plus.

Our company's South San Francisco research laboratory is seeking an innovative drug hunter with in-vitro background in biology or chemical biology to join the cardiometabolic disease department as a 2026 Summer Intern, providing in-vitro support to obesity related pipeline programs. The individual will perform experiments in the laboratory with minimal guidance and supervision in the design, execution, and interpretation of complex in vitro/ex vivo studies to support target identification, validation, and therapeutic development. The successful candidate will also possess a strong sense of intellectual curiosity to expand their technical expertise at the bench, as well as effective written and interpersonal communication skills to explain complex experiments and biological concepts to a broader scientific team.
Key Responsibilities may include:
Establish key assays and model systems, suitable for the mechanistic investigation of potential targets, as well as evaluation of therapeutic candidates, for metabolic diseases.
Perform molecular biology, cellular biology, cell-based assay, and ex vivo sample processing and analysis.
Design, perform, troubleshoot, document, analyze and interpret assigned research, with minimal supervision, to support exploratory activities as well as project focused goals.
Scour and critically evaluate current literature to identify opportunities for new and existing programs.
Work independently in executing tightly controlled experiments, analyzing data, and presenting to teams within the disease area.
Solve complex problems by undertaking innovative approaches and applying state-of-the art technologies.
Education:
Near completion of a Bachelor's Degree, or pursuing a Master's Degree, with 1 or more years of relevant industry or academic lab experience in chemical biology, molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, biology, or other relevant scientific discipline.
Required Experience and Skills:
Must have experience working with rodent or human pre-clinical tissues, primary cells, or cell lines in both routine and complex novel assay systems.
Must have availability for full-time work during June-August 2026 (10-12 weeks)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Should have experience in the following areas: target identification & validation, quantitative assay development, adipose or muscle biology, immunology in the context of insulin resistance.
Should have experience working with GPCR targets and performing quantitative cAMP assays.
Should have experience with routine immunoassays (bead or plate based).
Should have experience with standard molecular biology techniques (western blotting, qPCR, etc).
Should be able to work independently and is able to simultaneously handle a diverse workload with strong organizational and time management skills.
Should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work flexibly in a dynamic team environment.
Should have scientific curiosity, analytical mindset with a drive to own a project to understand biology, mechanism of action and drive it through the discovery pipeline.

The Quantitative Biosciences High Content Imaging (HCI) team is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated student. Working alongside experienced pharmaceutical industry scientists, the successful candidate will contribute to the discovery of novel ways to evaluate drug activity and mechanisms of action. The primary responsibility of the group is to apply high content imaging technologies to evaluate and characterize cellular models used and in pharmacological characterization of drug candidates from neuroscience, oncology and other drug discovery programs.
The successful candidate will:
Perform research work to address questions on the topic "Profiling of the Cell health phenotypes using morphology assessment with Cell painting and Cell Health assays”.
Learn and use cell culture technique to culture and plate selected cell lines; liquid handling techniques for compound dispensing on the plated cells; immuno-staining techniques to perform Cell Painting and other antibody-based Imaging assays; other type of assay to assess cellular toxicity.
Learn to do plate imaging using PE Opera Phenix and perform Image and data analysis using Columbus and Spotfire for the tests in plans. If there will be interest and good progress with laboratory techniques, there will be opportunity to learn how to apply machine learning and Python-based image and data analysis.
The results of those tests will be reviewed and presented to the HCI group at the regular meeting as well as to the larger group or department meetings if applicable.

Eurofins BPT San Diego is seeking a motivated intern to support our Analytical Science teams by assisting with laboratory tasks and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include:
* Generates data from a variety of laboratory techniques and analytical instrumentation such as but not limited to, pH, analytical balance, sample preparation, etc.
* Participates in studies as directed. Completes the necessary tasks associated with projects in designated areas.

Since its inception, CONSEJO has been dedicated to providing mentorship, resources, and opportunities that support student-interns in their journey toward clinical and professional development. As such, we offer a well-established internship program, maintain affiliations with over 40 academic institutions in allied behavioral health professions (e.g., social work and mental health counseling), and train more than 20 student-interns annually. Additionally, we provide guidance to staff with associate licenses, helping them meet the requirements for full licensure.
This position is responsible for providing clinical supervision to both student-interns and associate licensees across multiple CONSEJO locations, ensuring they meet their personal aspirations as well as their academic and licensure requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision
Provide individual supervision to student-interns and associate licensees, ensuring compliance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC), federal Medicaid regulations, managed care regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practices.
Provide case consultation.
Offer guidance, support, and feedback to help supervisees increase their knowledge base, build clinical skills, develop professionalism, gain confidence in their competence, ensure ethical practices, and meet academic and licensure requirements.
Foster a supportive and educational environment that encourages growth, reflection, and skill-building.
Develop and maintain clear, reasonable guidelines to direct student-interns' tasks and support their development.
Ensure supervisees deliver culturally competent and client-centered care.
Educate student-interns on proper documentation practices (e.g., treatment notes, confidentiality, mandated reporting, etc.).
Review and approve client treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation to ensure adherence to agency policies, ethical standards, legal guidelines, and best practices.

Address any areas of concern promptly and develop action plans to help student-interns improve.
Network, Collaboration, and Learning Opportunities
Attend internship fairs and recruitment events, as delegated by the manager, to promote the agency's internship program, network, and connect with potential student-interns.
Serve as a liaison between the agency and academic institutions, ensuring clear communication about student-intern expectations, progress, and performance.
Participate in internal and external meetings, committees, and management team discussions as needed.
Develop and deliver training sessions, didactics, and seminars to educate student-interns on agency policies and procedures, ethical practices, documentation requirements, and behavioral health treatment modalities.

Provide back-up clinical care when assigned student-interns are unavailable, and offer coverage for other student-intern supervisors as needed.
Participate in quality improvement program, ensuring supervisees follow quality improvement standards.
Assist the manager with relevant tasks on an as-needed basis.
Assist with agency clinical needs on an as-needed basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A license without restrictions in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field that has been in good standing for at least 2 years. A License Independent Clinical Social Worker is preferred.
A completed state-approved clinical supervisor training certificate, which includes a minimum of fifteen clock hours of training in clinical supervision.
Twenty-five hours of experience in supervision of clinical practice.
At least 5 years of professional experience treating adults and/or children with mental health conditions.
Experience working in a Community Mental Health Center, managing and providing care to Medicaid, non-Medicaid, and Apple Health clients.
Experience working with Latinx, BIPOC, and low-income communities.
A valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and car insurance.
Spanish proficiency is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE
This full-time position works from Monday to Friday.
SALARY
$85,000 - $95,000 annual salary. Pay will depend on experience, qualifications, and credentials.

What you will be doing:
Technical Operations - Process Analytical Technology (PAT) is part of Pharmaceutical Operations and responsible for process analytical control of Vertex commercial continuous manufacturing processes. This internship allows the candidate to work with a highly diverse group of scientists (i.e Technical Operations- Process and Automation) to solve complex problems encountered in the continuous commercial production/manufacturing of drug products. This intern will have the unique opportunity to explore new horizons to PAT which utilizes material sparing techniques for calibration building - laboratory simulations of manufacturing conditions and universal sample preparations approaches. This will involve building advanced multivariate models from acquired spectroscopic data of drug product intermediates.
Design and execute activities and experiments to formulate calibration blends using material sparing techniques and measure them spectroscopically.
Become proficient in statistical modeling of spectroscopic data. Develop multivariate predictive models (PCA, PLS, etc.) to assess the potency of drug product intermediates.
Develop new and evaluate existing methods for generating simulated calibration spectra and evaluate their accuracy
Support the progress of automated off-line chemometric model assessments.
Report and present results of work to key stakeholders and leadership
What you will need to succeed:
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or another related field.
Basic computer and MS Office Skills
Knowledge in fundamentals of vibrational spectroscopies (IR, Raman, NIR)
Demonstrated proficiency in intricate data manipulation using Microsoft Excel
Comfort in handling and organizing large data sets
Preferred: Knowledge about analytical chemistry, especially applied to small molecule pharmaceuticals
Preferred: Knowledge in oral solid dosage pharmaceuticals manufacturing processes and formulations
Preferred: Experience with multivariate data analysis and model building (PCA, PLS, SIMCA)
