APP - Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery - Montana
The Heart & Vascular Institute at Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Montana is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic and Vascular APP to join our hospital employed group.
Position Description
A typical week includes 3-4 operative days (OR and hybrid lab) and ½ to 1 full day of clinic weekly.
Dedicated time in OR with our 2 CVT Surgeons
First assist duties.
Vessel harvesting - open/bridging and endoscopic as well as tissue handling for vascular structures and wire skills in addition to openings and closures.
Removal of medical devices: chest tubes, Swan-Ganz catheters, pacemaker wires, drains, intra-aortic balloon pumps
Some common vascular surgeries include EVAR, TVAR, peripheral artery endarterectomy-carotid, iliac, femoral, peripheral artery bypasses, and AV fistula creation.
Currently, approx. 100 hearts annually with opportunity to grow.
Hospital and emergency department consults and inpatient rounding including ICU and step down.
Outpatient clinic as assigned - pre and post-op care
Call goal is 1:4
Minimum Qualifications
Cardiovascular/thoracic surgical experience
required
Experience in open and endoscopic vein harvesting
Ability to be autonomous in OR when required.
