A Day in the Life of a Banfield Veterinary Assistant
The Vet Assistant provides professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, making sure that clients and pets are comfortable in the hospital. You will use your technical skills on a daily basis, within state practice acts and as outlined in the NAVTA guidelines for veterinary assistant skills and duties. Other responsibilities include:
· Helping maintain the flow of patients
· Communicating with the veterinarian and vet techs
· Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
· Adhering to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and the treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized
· Educating clients about our Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care
· Mentoring other members of the hospital team

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Qualifications:
Experience working with animals, particularly in a veterinary setting, is preferred but not required

Were on the lookout for an experienced veterinary assistant or LVT student whos ready to take their skillsand their futureto the next level.
After your first 90 days, youll be required to enroll in an accredited Veterinary Technology program, with tuition reimbursement available through our education support program (because your dreams deserve to be invested in ).
Your Day-to-Day Purr-sibilities:
Be a superhero to pets and their peopleevery single day.
Assist our incredible doctors and licensed technicians during exams, treatments, and surgeries.

Primary Responsibilities
