Kennel Technician AMVC - Prairie Hills Animal Hospital Part time (10-25 hours per week) Purpose: A new, state-of-the-art small animal practice and full-service boarding facility is seeking a part-time Kennel Technician to join our team. This position will provide day-to-day care and maintenance of the boarding facility. Key Responsibilities Customer Service: Assist customers and communicate regularly in a professional, friendly manner. Scheduling: Schedule boarders, including managing intake and discharge procedures. Animal Care: Care for animals, including feeding, watering, and cleaning of eliminations. Medical Alert: Alert medical staff of any medical concerns regarding boarders. Enrichment: Responsible for boarder enrichment activities. Medication: Administer medications as directed. Maintenance: Keep the boarding facility clean and organized. Marketing: Assist in marketing of the boarding facility. Other Duties: Perform other duties as needed assigned by management. Availability: Weekend animal care is required. Qualifications Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude and friendly disposition. Organizational skills. Experience in animal handling and proper care of animals preferred. Previous experience in a boarding or kennel setting is preferred. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to work effectively with others in a team environment but also be a highly self-motivated individual. Physical Demands Must be able to walk and stand for long periods , potentially the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working with large dogs , including walking them. Benefits Wages (Hourly rate commensurate with experience). Health Insurance: Employee pays 20% of premium.
