This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage a wide range of litigation matters across our diverse network. Postion Overview: As the Senior Counsel, Disputes, you will oversee litigation matters across the Vetcor network, providing expert legal guidance and hands-on management of disputes and legal proceedings. You will be responsible for developing case strategies, managing outside counsel, and collaborating with internal teams to mitigate risk and ensure compliance. Key Responsbilities: Litigation Management: Oversee litigation matters, including employment, commercial, and general liability disputes, from inception to resolution. Case Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to manage risk, resolve disputes, and protect Vetcor's interests. Outside Counsel Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with outside counsel, managing costs, case progress, and outcomes. Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including hospital leaders and corporate departments, to provide legal advice, gather facts, and ensure alignment. Risk Mitigation: Identify trends in litigation and recommend proactive measures to reduce future risks. Document Review and Preparation: Draft, review, and revise pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents. Training and Education: Provide training to hospital teams and other internal stakeholders on litigation trends, risk management, and best practices. Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to litigation and provide regular reports on case status and outcomes. Insurance: Manage with relationship with insurance brokers and carriers and third-party management organizations; manage and report claims. Miscellaneous Duties: Assist on special projects and other tasks as needed. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. 4+ years of litigation experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience. Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and provide strategic guidance with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, negotiation, and written communication skills.
