DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Vocational RehabilitationCounselor with the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). This position will report to the Supervisor and provide vocational rehabilitation counseling and guidance to individuals with disabilities to address barriers to employment and gain the skills to enter, gain, or retain employment. This position will serve in a hybrid work environment.
Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in one of the following tiers:
• Entry Vocational RehabilitationCounselor
Bachelor's degree in a field of study reasonably related to rehabilitation counseling or another field that reasonably prepares individuals to work with individuals with disabilities and employers and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Intermediate Vocational RehabilitationCounselor
Master's degree in a field of study closely related to rehabilitation counseling and one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities (Closely related fields are defined by Commission on RehabilitationCounselor Certification.)
• Senior Vocational RehabilitationCounselor
Meets Intermediate credential requirements plus has a Certified RehabilitationCounselor (CRC) certification

Entry Vocational RehabilitationCounselor
• Introduces clients to the vocational rehabilitation program including program eligibility criteria and client's right and responsibilities
• Reviews client's medical and/or psychological information to identify employment needs and goals as well as available services and resources
• Provides vocational counseling, career exploration, and labor market exploration to determine suitable employment goals
• Meets with clients on a one-on-one basis to problem solve and establish or modify an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE)
• Provides case management and maintains regular contact with clients, service providers, and collaborative programs, and assess services and IPE progress
• Manages fiscal resources including authorizing, reviewing, and payment of services
Intermediate Vocational RehabilitationCounselor
• Same duties as listed above and the following duties:
• Provides case management to clients with complex needs and goals
• Serves as program liaison for specialized groups
• Provides guidance to Entry Vocational RehabilitationCounselors

Our new Telehealth Addiction Medicine program is founded on the belief that everyone deserves a path to recovery. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Conducts comprehensive evaluations of a client's substance use and overall mental and physical health. Assess their readiness for treatment and identify any co-occurring mental health conditions.
Formulates and implements personalized treatment plans with clients and their families, tailoring them to individual needs, history, and recovery goals.
Coordinates client care by arranging for and referring clients to appropriate services, such as medical care, support groups, or job placement services.
Collaborates with the client to set reasonable, client-driven goals and create a plan for accessing services.
Connects clients with appropriate internal and external services, such as medical care, mental health treatment, housing, and employment.
Tracks client progress, reevaluating the plan, and making adjustments as needed.
Maintains accurate, detailed, and confidential client records, including progress notes and reports.
Participates in crisis interventions during emergency situations to ensure client safety.
Works with clients to identify relapse risks and develop prevention strategies to help them maintain their recovery.
Conducts outreach programs in the community to educate the public on the signs of addiction and other problematic behaviors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Neighborhood House of North Richmonds (NHNR) mission is to improve the quality of life of residents of all ages in North Richmond and surrounding communities. NHNR complies with all federal and state employment laws.
Position Description: Under general supervision, facilitates prevention education classes, group sessions, and individual counseling for DUI Program participants. Counselors are responsible for charting and maintaining accurate participant records in accordance with DUI Program operation guidelines and California Title 9 Regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
License Required: Possession of valid California Motor vehicle Operators License
Language Requirement: Bi-lingual - Spanish
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time experience counseling persons in a substance abuse program or its equivalent
Certification Required: Must possess a certificate as an Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor issued by California Association of Alcohol/Drug Education (CAADE), California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP), or California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP).

CBRS providers helps individuals within the community with their mental health and/or behavioral health needs while working towards obtainable goals.
Maintains appropriate documentation for service delivery, treatment reviews, and staffing requirements in accordance with Optum/payer sources.
Must be in possession of a laptop, or other device that is capable of running web based applications in order to document services with clients while working in the community.

On one day, an RCD may be working with a Deaf high school student, helping them learn about the world of work and talking about self-advocacy.
