Perform lab tests: platelet counts, differentials, urinalysis, blood typing/cross-matching.
Equipment & Laboratory Services
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
Perform in-house lab work; package and ship send-out tests.
Serve as staff resource on lab services; maintain test reference lists.
Invoicing & Research
Verify billing for outside labs.
Research new equipment, tests, labs, pricing, and support AVES research projects.
Communication & Inventory
Share lab updates with staff; maintain vendor relationships.
Manage lab supplies, tests, forms, and sample storage; assist with quarterly inventory.
Janitorial, Meetings & Training
Clean and stock lab areas daily; ensure materials are organized.
Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
Other Skills & Abilities

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for companion animals and aquatic life is required for this position. Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills are necessary due to the nature of interaction with the public and other partners and leaders within the PCC as well as external veterinary partners.
Certification
Completing and maintaining of the Petco Animal Care Certification program is required in this role.
Education/Skills
In addition to a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED), an applicant must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the areas of mathematics and basic accounting relationships and exhibit exceptional communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibility
* Ensures that the Pet Care Center is opened and / or closed in accordance with established P&Ps as it applies to SFS operations.
* Adhere to and promote established safety procedures for partners, guests, and pets.
Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although guest carryouts and veterinary visits will require that a partner leave the PCC briefly. Because this position requires bending, kneeling, moving merchandise (up to 50 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time, there may be risk of injury resulting from not following procedures. Ability and willingness to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends to meet PCC needs.

Veterinary Technician/Assistant with 1 year of experience

What You'll Do
You'll work closely with our doctors and team to deliver top-notch care, including:
Assisting with surgeries and dental procedures
Placing IV catheters and administering medications (IV, IM, SQ)
Performing radiographs, lab testing, and patient monitoring
Providing client education and support
General hospital maintenance and equipment care
What We Offer
Pay: $19-$24 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 35-40 hours/week (includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays)
