Job Summary
The Associate DVM ensures a high quality of veterinary care, client service, employee well-being, and productivity of the veterinary medical team. The Principal Doctor and Practice Manager will lead the Associate DVM to ensure the well-being of the hospital environment, medical quality, and business performance of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure consistent, high-quality care, safe and exceptional service to maintain a positive hospital environment, uphold medical standards, and support business performance
Adhere to all WellHaven protocols and practices and oversee employees to prioritize practice goals
Collaborate with the Principal Doctor to establish development plans that align with hospital objectives
Practice veterinary medicine in compliance with the State Veterinary Practice Act, Federal and/or State Controlled Substance laws, WellHaven Code of Ethics, and maintain appropriate medical record documentation
Maintain thorough and accurate medical charting for all patients, consistently meeting hospital quality control standards
Provide comprehensive client communication, including in-person, phone, and email as needed
Participate in community events, external marketing initiatives, and hospital projects
Demonstrate proficiency in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and current medical practices
Advocate for exceptional client service and patient well-being
Provide medical training to support staff (new graduates will gain experience over time).

The Associate Doctor position is performed onsite at our hospital or an approved offsite event location. Remote work is not available for this position
The hospital environment includes limited space, smells from pet waste, and noise (barking, etc.)

Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to reach and grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read information

Renton Veterinary Hospital is looking for another veterinarian to join our team of passionate change-makers. Located in the heart of Renton, our hospital has been serving the local community since 1941. Our new medical director, Dr. McLean, and our seasoned manager, Maritza, are dedicated to fostering a positive work environment for our team, one that promotes life-long learning, mentorship, and leading with empathy. Additionally, Maritza is a member of the Renton Chamber of Commerce, and Dr. McLean is on the board of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, so we are very involved in the community on a local and state level. We take pride in building lasting relationships with the people and pets of Renton, and we are looking to grow our staff so that we can offer more for our clientele. Our hospital was named the 2024 Best Veterinary Hospital of Renton, and we continue to strive to offer the best medicine that we can for our patients. We have one full-time doctor (Dr. McLean, our medical director), two licensed veterinary technicians, and two veterinary assistants (one of whom is enrolled in Penn Foster's Vet Tech program).

Responsibilities:
· Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that supports quality patient care and client education.
· Communicate effectively with clients to explain diagnosis and treatment plans.
· Maintain medical records in compliance with laws and regulations.
· Collaborate with other team members to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.
· Participate in continuing education to stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
Requirements:
· Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
· License to practice veterinary medicine in Washington State.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Dedication to providing compassionate care for animals and their owners.
· Willingness to uphold our clinic's values and standards of care.
