Bolton Veterinary Hospital is located in Bolton, CT. Our location is perfect for a quick 15-minute drive into the quaint downtown of West Hartford to enjoy local shops and great restaurants. Our practice is also conveniently located 90 minutes from Boston which gives you the options for a fun day trip or quick getaway weekend. Having an excellent school system, a good balance of the city and rural lifestyle, and experiencing all four seasons, makes this the ideal location to live and work. Practice Overview
Bolton Veterinary Hospital has been serving the greater Bolton area since 1953. We are an AAHA-accredited practice and take immense pride in providing the highest quality standard of medicine to their patients. Our hospital's unwavering loyalty and support speaks for itself with our outstanding tenure staff. We have a wonderful mentorship program for new veterinarians, and individually customize support for those who have been in the field for a while. If you enjoy a variety of caseloads, our practice sees anywhere from general practice, to urgent care and emergency cases. We have an in-house laboratory with digital cytology, full oxygen cages with climate control, endoscope, dental suites, in-house ultrasound just under a specialist level, access to in-house internal medicine specialists, digital X-ray and dental, ECG services on site, and right down the road is our dedicated dental facility. We also offer acupuncture as well as low-level laser therapy.
What it looks like:
Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of small animal cases
No rechecks - you get to focus on emergency medicine
Our Hospitalist cares for your patients after your shift
You can do your own surgeries! The case isn't transferred to another department or team.
Overnights or day shifts available
Support is always available from designated backup Veterinarians for overnights
You have a team of other DVMs on site for support and collaboration on cases
Requirements:
Qualifications
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required
Being licensed or able to become licensed in the state of Connecticut is required
New graduates are welcome to apply!
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members
Strong surgical skills a plus
Prior experience working in general practice, urgent care, or emergency setting
Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for continuous education
Ability to build strong client and patient relationships
