VETCO TOTAL CARE HOSPITAL relief shifts include preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Qualifications:
Active Veterinary State License (New York state)
Doctor of Veterinary degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university
Commitment to approaching care from a holistic animal welfare perspective and providing the highest quality of care to animal residents.
Proven skills in conventional medicine, diagnostics, and healthcare record keeping standards.
Varied veterinary experience welcome. Large animal and avian experience required (specifically: cattle, goat, sheep, pig). VCA Colonial Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to complement our talented team in beautiful Ithaca, New York.
At VCA Colonial, our practice is the perfect mix of general medicine and specialty services. Specialties currently offered include surgery, oncology, internal medicine, and radiology. Our 16,000 square foot hospital is fully equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, endoscopy, , in-house laboratory, and CT.
We are a 17 doctor practice with a large support team that includes over 40 Licensed Technicians and Assistants. We are open seven days a week, and provide 24 hour hospitalized patient care. Our hours of operation do not require overnight doctor shifts, however, there is a very challenging and diverse caseload in emergency medicine. We have a great group of veterinarians who support each other and work well as a team.

The annualized base for this position ranges from $115,000 to $140,000 (currently does not include overnights) and is negotiable based on experience and credentials. This position is also eligible for production/commission and other variable pay programs.
