Job Summary
The Associate DVM ensures a high quality of veterinary care, client service, employee well-being, and productivity of the veterinary medical team. The Principal Doctor and Practice Manager will lead the Associate DVM to ensure the well-being of the hospital environment, medical quality, and business performance of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure consistent, high-quality care, safe and exceptional service to maintain a positive hospital environment, uphold medical standards, and support business performance
Adhere to all WellHaven protocols and practices and oversee employees to prioritize practice goals
Collaborate with the Principal Doctor to establish development plans that align with hospital objectives
Practice veterinary medicine in compliance with the State Veterinary Practice Act, Federal and/or State Controlled Substance laws, WellHaven Code of Ethics, and maintain appropriate medical record documentation
Maintain thorough and accurate medical charting for all patients, consistently meeting hospital quality control standards
Provide comprehensive client communication, including in-person, phone, and email as needed
Participate in community events, external marketing initiatives, and hospital projects
Demonstrate proficiency in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and current medical practices
Advocate for exceptional client service and patient well-being
Provide medical training to support staff (new graduates will gain experience over time).
Willingness to train/lead/manage support staff as required

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Requirements
The Associate Doctor position is performed onsite at our hospital or an approved offsite event location. Remote work is not available for this position
The hospital environment includes limited space, smells from pet waste, and noise (barking, etc.)
Schedules may include 10+ hour shifts, Saturdays, evenings, and holidays
Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to reach and grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read information

Job Summary
The Associate DVM ensures a high quality of veterinary care, client service, employee well-being, and productivity of the veterinary medical team. Our Schedule: Our hospitals offer clinic hours Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm and Saturday from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. The schedule consists of 30 minute appointment times and a 90 minutes midday break for lunch and to catch up on needed procedures, if needed. We utilize the services of local emergency services for overnight concerns and emergencies to eliminate the need for on-call duties for DVMs. We offer full time (4 days) or part time with or without surgical responsibilities. There are always other DVMs on the floor and available to help and discuss urgent cases and generally collaborate. WE offer vacation time flexibility with many associates enjoying 4 or more weeks a year.

As an Associate Veterinarian, you assume a multifaceted role at our hospital, extending far beyond traditional veterinary duties. · Put Pets First - creating recommendations with the patient's well-being as the first priority.

You will be responsible for managing clients and providing them with healthcare services and products. You will be able to participate in wet lab and clinical field trial research of fish health biologicals and pharmaceuticals and specialize in fish vaccine development and clinical application and follow-up. This is one of the few clinical fish veterinary positions available in the country.
Key Role Specific Requirements
Provide licensed veterinary services to private and public clients throughout the US and Canada
Provide technical support in fish vaccines and other fish health tools, disease prevention and control and help clients with production efficiency
Represent AquaTactics and Bimeda in industry meetings and professional associations
Participate and coordinate clinical trials
Develop trusted and valued relationships with new and existing clients
Assist in identifying needs amongst the client base for the products and services by working with Bimeda's and AquaTactics' R&D
Be able to travel extensively to meet with clients
Assist with marketing of AquaTactics and AquaTactics products and services
Help AquaTactics bring new vaccines and drugs to the market
Essential
DVM / VMD and eligible for USA State Veterinary licensure
Experience and interest in the fish health industry and aquaculture more broadly
Personable and ability to interact and socialize amongst different cultures and levels in an organization
Ability to travel nationally regularly (50%)
Strong verbal, presentation and writing skills in English required
Proficiency in writing technical documents and translating technical information to a lay perspective
Excellent people management skills
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
USA driving license
Ability to work in inclement weather
Ability to move 50lbs, ability to bend, kneel and stand for prolonged periods
USDA Accreditation Category II
