Practice At PetCheck Urgent Care, our animal hospitals serve Sewell, Deptford Township, and surrounding areas with more than urgent pet care. We are both a regular and urgent care vet meaning our clients can trust us in any situation. We are open from 9am-9pm every day to evaluate your sick pets as well as provide routine care. About You As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to assisting in room appointments, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. Experience & Skills Requirements: Veterinary technician licensure strongly preferred 3+ years of clinical experience in a general practice setting preferred Must have surgical, anesthesia and dental experience. Must possess superior customer service skills An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Job Responsibilities: Performing treatments on hospitalized patients including the administration of medications by various routes Obtaining vitals, blood pressure, ECG, and other monitoring parameters Monitoring hydration status, administering CRI's, setting up IV fluids with multiple lines, etc. Phlebotomy and basic knowledge of hematology and “normals” Basic knowledge of anesthetic drugs, protocols, and anesthesia monitoring Medical record keeping, client communication (particularly in regards to patient updates) Knowledge of common medications Ability to place intravenous catheters, central line placement and PICC line placement and care Transfusion therapy including blood typing and cross matching Feeding tube care and maintenance CPCR Application of bandages/splints.
