Any additional suggestions for certifications would be welcomed Retirement Plan: After one year of full-time employment you will be eligible to participate in our Registered Retirement Savings Plan in which we will match your contributions. ABOUT US: Location: Tally Oaks Veterinary Wellness Center is located four miles south of Purcellville in Loudoun County, Virginia. We are located in a rural area and our clinic is the focal point of a beautiful horse property which has been converted into a small animal clinic. Practice Overview: My goal as the practice owner is to change the overall veterinary experience. I understand that the veterinary medicine field can be stressful and at times frustrating, however, I am committed to treating pets, pet owners and team members with compassion and respect. I am also committed to a more holistic approach to veterinary medicine focused on prevention, healthy nutrition and complementary medicine. Our practice culture is based on prevention of illness and disease and holistic healing in addition to traditional veterinary principles. We perform routine wellness and non-routine/sick visits as well as surgeries and dental procedures two days a week. We have visiting surgeons who perform orthopedic and more advanced soft-tissue surgeries at our clinic. We strongly believe in complementary medicine and offer acupuncture, massage, essential oils, laser, pulsed electromagnetic therapy and more. We also have a strong interest in addressing nutritional needs and optimal feeding regimens. We are not a sales-oriented practice and we never pressure our clients to purchase services or products they are not interested in or don't need. We do however place a strong emphasis on the education of our clients and our team members are expected to help educate our pet owners. What makes us Unique? Quality not Quantity: We believe in quality not quantity, with fewer appointments and more pet and pet owner interaction. Our team members are expected to get to know our patients and their owners and are an integral part of the health care plan. Not overbooking and having disgruntled customers and overworked employees makes our workplace much more enjoyable and productive. More Personalized Care: Although we do have some busy days, we make it a priority to give more personalized care and extra time with our clients. For example we encourage pet owners to stay with their pet while they become sedated for surgery. This simple act puts many people at ease and is easier on the pet. We also allow the pet owners to sit with their pets while a dedicated technician monitors them during recovery. Transparency: Our pet owners are in the office with their pets at all wellness visits. This transparency puts our clients at ease and makes them a part of the healthcare plan for their pet. We want our atmosphere to reflect more of a healing oasis rather than a cold, frightening hospital. Unique, Tranquil Setting: In addition, we have another rather unique advantage. Our clinic is located on a beautiful, serene horse property and integrated into a barn. Pets immediately feel more at ease entering a clinic with wide open doors and the aroma of essential oils and the country. Pets have their own private waiting rooms and dog owners can choose to walk around the expansive property and utilize our fenced in areas. “In the age where veterinary medicine is becoming more standardized and business oriented, we are headed in the opposite direction and encourage independent thinking, compassionate care, pet owner involvement and a more holistic approach to health care.” ABOUT YOU - What are we looking for? Team Member: We are looking for a team member who is compassionate, responsible and enjoys being part of a small practice and works well with others, shares responsibilities and successes and enjoys interactions with clients and their pets. A positive outgoing attitude is a must as we are trying to make our clients and their pets look forward to their veterinary visits instead of fearing them. Experienced, Licensed and Skilled: We are looking for that special team member that would like to fully utilize their veterinary skills and expand their veterinary knowledge and join us in our mission to provide a more unique approach to veterinary health care. A minimum of two years experience is ideal and more experience would be compensated accordingly. You should be able to work unsupervised and be willing to share your knowledge and skills with others. Motivated and Entrepreneurial: We are looking for someone who is committed to promoting our mission and goals and is excited to participate in client/patient activities and community events. We are very social media oriented and would be thrilled to have a team member who could assist in these efforts. Passionate and Compassionate: Most importantly we are looking for someone who is passionate about animal welfare and committed to delivering the highest standard of care. Compassion for our patients is an inherent quality that is obvious to all and absolutely a must to work in our clinic. Your Responsibilities: As one of our veterinary technicians you will be expected to wear many hats. Everyone, including the doctors, contributes to the jobs involved in running the practice. More specifically, you will be responsible for helping doctors with examinations, entering patient data in the software system, performing venipuncture, placing catheters, administering anesthesia, assisting in dental cleanings, assisting with ultrasound and radiography, and performing laboratory procedures. You should also be comfortable educating owners on preventative health care practices and explaining common health care problems. You will also be expected to learn the SOPs of the office and make sure the office runs efficiently using the most up to date software and integrated laboratory services. #hc163221
