Conduct X-Ray imaging as required for diagnostic purposes while adhering to safety protocols. Provide education to pet owners regarding animal health, nutrition, and preventive care. Experience Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is required. Strong skills in dog handling and general animal handling techniques are essential. Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is highly desirable. Experience with animal catheterization procedures is required. They are a three-doctor hospital looking for an additional team member to help their team grow and to support their growing clientele. They primarily treat dogs and cats, but do see the occasional rabbit and pocket pet! They have a fabulous location near the beach with a wonderful team. Many of their support staff members have been with them for over 10 years! They have a great workflow and even better clients, with an opportunity to be a high producer quickly. They do have boarded surgeons who come to the hospital twice a month to help with complicated surgeries. The team are hoping to find a doctor who not only loves their clients, but who is also experienced in surgery and ultrasound (or is willing to learn!). They do need a doctor who can work Saturdays. In addition to physical examinations, surgeries, and dentistry, client communication and client education are of the upmost importance. It's important that their Veterinarians treat each pet and client like part of the family. Description Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort. Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet's problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products. Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient. Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.
