A variety of tasks fall within this classification such as blood collection from patients of all ages; performance of CLIA waived testing/other specimen collection; maintaining the stock of phlebotomy supplies; knowledge of insurance requirements for laboratory testing; completion of paperwork to accompany specimens; and basic scheduling. We operate on a set schedule, consisting of three 12-13 hour shifts per week. We have two teams that alternate their schedules weekly, Team A and Team B. For example, on week 1, Team A works on Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 am to 7:30 pm, and the following week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the same hours. On week 1, Team B works on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and the following week they work Monday, Friday, and Saturday.
