About this Position Instruct and assist-fourth year professional veterinary students. Maintain equipment and supplies inventory in clinical areas. Must have excellent technical capabilities as well as time-management, communication (both written and oral) and organizational skills. Must be able to employ critical thinking, prioritize tasks and work in a team environment. Self-motivation is essential to expand upon knowledge and education of advanced small animal diseases including diagnostic and treatment options. Provide high quality veterinary technical assistance in several small animal VTH services including internal medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, community practice, theriogenology, oncology, and exotic animal medicine. Required Qualifications High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) High school/GED and two years related experience; or Associate of Science degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program with two years related experience; or Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences or related area; or DVM degree or equivalent. Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Experience in restraint of small and large animals, administering injections, and placement of IV (peripheral, central, and urinary) catheters is essential. Must have knowledge of equipment used within VTH including, but not limited to: personal computer, telephone, copy machine, laser, video endoscope, diagnostic lab equipment, camera/video camera, electrodiagnostic equipment, etc. Must be physically capable of lifting animals weighing 50 pounds or greater onto exam tables and into elevated cages. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Veterinary Technology Five years experience as a Veterinary Technician Specialist recognized by NAVTA or credentials in a specialty that VTH defines as meriting recognition. Ability to perform assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision. Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS).

Position Overview As an Operations Specialist in Animal Care, your role will be to ensure that proper animal care and husbandry is being provided for all companion animals and aquatic life in the Pet Care Center (PCC). You'll be the primary resource regarding animal care and maintenance. This position will support the achievement of the PCC's budgeted sales and shrink goals. You'll ensure our merchandising and inventory strategies are executed across the Pet Care Center with your primary focus in companion animals and aquatic life. You will ensure the efficient and effective operations of the Pet Care Center in close partnership with the sales team to meet the needs of the guest and their pet/s. You can excel in this role by exhibiting a passion for the welfare, health, and proper care of animals as well as being a positive partner within the whole Pet Care Center team.
