Registered Veterinary Technician
This individual will be a direct report for the technician team and will be responsible for several tasks including to help ensure the hospital is running to the best of its ability. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Staff scheduling

• Ensuring all hospital policies and protocols are being followed.

Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animals. Prepares patient, medications, and equipment for surgery, and hands instruments and materials to veterinarian during surgical procedures. Performs routine laboratory tests and monitors anesthesia.
Job Requirements
• This job requires at least 5 years of experience as an RVT
• An employee in this position must have a sense of caring for animals, be able to lift approximately 50 pounds, walk dogs of up to 130 pounds.

Description
Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet's problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient.
Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
Treat every client like family and each patient like your own pet.
Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of in which applicant is applying

Job Summary
The Veterinary Technician is a vital member of our veterinary team, pivotal in delivering exceptional veterinary care to animals. This position involves supporting veterinarians to ensure the highest standards of veterinary medicine, educating clients, and delivering compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Main Accountabilities:
Assist in the examination, treatment, and monitoring of animals under the supervision of a veterinarian. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed. Monitor vital signs, collect samples for laboratory analysis, and perform diagnostic tests
Prepare and analyze laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and feces. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment. Perform diagnostic tests, interpret results, and record findings accurately in patient records
Prepare surgical suites, instruments, and patients for surgery. Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures by providing appropriate equipment and medications, monitoring anesthesia, and providing post-operative care
Educate clients about Wellness Plans, animal care, nutrition, medication administration, and disease prevention
Maintain thorough and accurate medical charting for all patients, consistently meeting hospital quality control standards
Ensure the proper maintenance and functioning of hospital equipment to support patient care
Assist in managing hospital supplies, including inventory tracking and restocking as necessary
Contribute to the day-to-day flow and efficiency of the hospital, collaborating with team members to optimize operations
Act as an advocate for the overall success and performance of the hospital
Perform select reception duties, such as triaging phone calls, scheduling appointments, and facilitating the intake and discharge of patients

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for companion animals and aquatic life is required for this position.
