HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION The Veterinary Tech Assistant provides assistance to the Registered Veterinary Technician Team in all areas of the hospital. This position reports to the Veterinary Services Pharmacy Supervisor. WHAT YOU WILL DO Provide assistance to the Registered Vet Tech Team including but not limited to, surgical pack preparation, doing surgical laundry, changing out oxygen tanks, instrument cleaning and sterilization, stocking and cleaning treatment rooms and pharmacy and surgical suite as well as the veterinary truck fleet, maintaining medical supply storage room, maintaining medical grips and carts and setting up and cleaning up after medical procedures. Dry mop whenever hair/paper is on the floor. * Clean and sterilize the animal enclosures in order to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and provide a pleasant environment for the clinic's patients. * Clean, brush, remove bandages each patient before they go home. * Maintain veterinary equipment in a sterile condition, in order to prevent postoperative infections.
