Job Description Village Square Veterinary Hospital is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to become the next member of our Portola Valley team! You will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care during exams, outpatient visits, surgical procedures, and dentistry. Your responsibilities will include preparing animals for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, performing dental prophies, and providing thorough client education with professionalism and compassion. You will help manage hospital flow by preparing and rooming patients for the doctor, as well as managing a variety of technician appointments with skill and efficiency. This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availibility needed Monday-Friday. At NorthBay Health the Limited License Rad Tech works under the supervision of the Urgent Care Manager with oversight by the Solano Diagnostics Imaging Manager. This position performs x-ray procedures, limited to the scope of certification, by applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Demonstrates the ability to meet the needs and provide service to all age groups-infancy through geriatrics. Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations. Assists and instructs patients during examinations. Assists with clerical and other duties as assigned. Reports all equipment malfunctions. Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use. Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technician - In-House & Spay/Neuter Clinic Employment Type: Part-Time (24-30 hours per week) Compensation: $25.00-$35.00/hour (DOE) + Sign-on Bonus ($2,500-$5,000 DOE) About the Role We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Veterinary Services and Spay/Neuter Clinic team. This role is essential in ensuring that animals receive high-quality medical care, thorough health evaluations, and appropriate treatments. The RVT will support both in-house animals and spay/neuter clinic patients through medical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication. Key Responsibilities Perform physical exams and administer vaccinations. Restrain animals safely for exams, treatment, and procedures. Calculate, prepare, and administer medications, including pre-anesthetic and anesthetic drugs. Induce and monitor anesthesia; assist veterinarians during surgery. Perform laboratory procedures (microscopy, blood analysis, dental machine use). Provide dental care including prophylaxis, extractions, and suturing (experience required). Maintain accurate medical records and controlled substance logs. Ensure proper admitting and discharge of animals for both public and shelter services. Support emergency medical care when needed. Euthanize and/or assist with euthanasia per established protocols. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well-stocked work environment. Supervise and guide volunteers as needed. Qualifications Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification from an accredited program (required). High school diploma or GED; one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training. Demonstrated proficiency in veterinary dental procedures, including extractions and suturing (required).
