The Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) supports the operation of an animal hospital by providing medical care to patients in accordance with veterinary practice regulations. Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
* Current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
* One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
* Proficiency in a range of technical skills including laboratory procedures, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental care, and nursing.
* Ability to administer subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and intravenous (IV) injections.
* Knowledge of commonly used veterinary medications including dosage, side effects, and client communication.
* Understanding of anesthesia and patient recovery monitoring, with the ability to recognize and report changes in patient status.
* Ability to remain calm and efficient in stressful or fast-paced environments, including medical emergencies.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibility
* Ensures that the Pet Care Center is opened and / or closed in accordance with established P&Ps as it applies to SFS operations.

The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although guest carryouts and veterinary visits will require that a partner leave the PCC briefly. About the Job Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our ICU Overnight team. This role offers an incredible opportunity to support our Emergency and ICU departments in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital setting. You'll be part of a diverse and skilled team with access to advanced technologies and specialists in nearly every veterinary discipline. It's not just a job, it's a lifestyle.
Responsibilities • Perform treatments on hospitalized patients, including administering medications by various routes• Obtain vitals, ECGs, blood pressure, and other patient monitoring parameters• Monitor hydration status, set up IV fluids (including CRIs and multi-line setups)• Perform phlebotomy and assess hematologic parameters• Understand anesthetic drugs, protocols, and monitoring procedures• Maintain accurate medical records and provide client communication and patient updates• Place IV catheters, central lines, and PICC lines and provide related care• Administer transfusions, perform blood typing, and cross-matching• Maintain and manage feeding tubes• Place male urinary catheters• Perform and assist with CPCR• Apply bandages and splints• Handle patient discharges• Provide nursing care to exotics, including administering SQ/IM/IV injections• Maintain invoicing accuracy and follow hospital record protocols• Complete additional duties as assigned
Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of experience in advanced in-patient care• CVT or VTS preferred• Experience in a fast-paced, multi-doctor, emergency or specialty hospital
Technical Abilities & Skills • Proficient in identifying normal vitals for awake, sedated, and anesthetized patients• Accurate calculation and administration of anesthetic agents and fluids• Strong knowledge of anesthetic monitoring and protocols• Skilled in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and sterilization practices• Excellent communication and organization skills• Ability to provide high-level client service and patient care• Commitment to collaboration and relationship-building across departments
Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods• Must be able to lift and restrain animals up to 40 lbs
