The hospital is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, endoscopy, oxygen cages, and a dedicated ER surgical suite.
ER veterinarians are encouraged to perform their own surgeries.
Typical scheduling is three 12-13 hour shifts per week with strong overlap for support.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform exams, diagnostics, and surgeries
Provide client communication and education
Maintain medical records and follow medication protocols
Support teamwork and hospital efficiency
Assist with protocol oversight and participate in rounds

Required Qualifications:
DVM from an accredited program
Current state veterinary license and DEA registration

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.
As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will:
Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc..Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
Perform call backs and refill medications
Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
Understand normal vital parameters
Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics

What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Technician Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting our medical team and ensuring each patient receives the best possible care. You'll assist with both emergency and general hospital operations, helping our doctors and technicians with daily treatments, patient care, and clinical tasks.
In this role, you will:
Assist doctors and nurses with patient care and procedures
Perform daily husbandry for hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, and cleaning
Properly restrain patients using fear-free handling techniques
Prepare and run in-house laboratory tests (CBC, Chemistry, UA, etc.)
Stock treatment and exam areas, maintain hospital cleanliness, and manage laundry
Assist in surgery by setting up and cleaning surgical areas, wrapping instruments, and supporting anesthesia recovery
Support outpatient appointments by preparing rooms, restraining for diagnostics, and cleaning between patients
Maintain accurate patient charts and assist with daily checklists
Provide overall support to ensure smooth daily hospital operations
Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling.
Typical hours will range between 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, including some weekends.
Shifts may look like Saturday-Monday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with flexibility for four 10-hour shifts per week.
Compensation
$16.00-$22.00/hour, commensurate with experience.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for companion animals and aquatic life is required for this position. Education/Skills

Supervisory Responsibility

Work Environment
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors, although guest carryouts and veterinary visits will require that a partner leave the PCC briefly. Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

Responsibilities • Provide high-quality nursing care to a variety of species under the supervision of veterinarians
