About You As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to assisting in room appointments, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. Experience & Skills Requirements: Veterinary technician licensure strongly preferred 3+ years of clinical experience in a general practice setting preferred Must have surgical, anesthesia and dental experience. Must possess superior customer service skills An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Job Responsibilities: Performing treatments on hospitalized patients including the administration of medications by various routes Obtaining vitals, blood pressure, ECG, and other monitoring parameters Monitoring hydration status, administering CRI's, setting up IV fluids with multiple lines, etc. Phlebotomy and basic knowledge of hematology and “normals” Basic knowledge of anesthetic drugs, protocols, and anesthesia monitoring Medical record keeping, client communication (particularly in regards to patient updates) Knowledge of common medications Ability to place intravenous catheters, central line placement and PICC line placement and care Transfusion therapy including blood typing and cross matching Feeding tube care and maintenance CPCR Application of bandages/splints. The candidate must have a certification in veterinary technology as well as clinic experience. Call center hours are 9-7 pm. Candidate must be able to do shift work and have flexibility to accommodate the call center hours. The Veterinary Medical Information and Product Support (VMIPS) Team is a contact center environment, responsible for maintaining the regulatory integrity of our growing portfolio through providing outstanding customer service to our callers. Our major veterinary therapeutic areas include: anti-infective, biologic, parasiticides, inflammation, analgesia, anesthesia/sedation, oncology, dermatology and diagnostic. We focus on maximizing the value of our broad veterinary solutions portfolio by building and sustaining relevant partnerships with veterinarians, pet owners and producers. The Customer Care Diagnostic Veterinary Technician will respond effectively to routine and complex inquiries and complaints in a manner that is consistent with VMIPS and Veterinary Medical Regulatory Affairs (VMRA) standard operating procedures (SOPs) and be responsible for first contact resolution of inquiries and adverse experiences involving company product.
