Detroit Medical Center company history timeline

1985

The DMC was organized in 1985 and includes DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan, DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Harper University Hospital, DMC Heart Hospital, DMC Hutzel Hospital, and DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.

2004

The first Intraoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging system was used in 2004

2013

The Dallas-based for-profit company purchased the DMC from Vanguard in 2013.

2014

DMC Heart Hospital was opened on August 4, 2014, offering the first hospital dedicated to only cardiac patients.

2018

According to Wikipedia, in 2018, Karmanos was named America’s Best Hospitals for Cancer Care and Research by the Women’s Choice Award.

2020
