Worked nights so less pressure, less management walking around for no reason. Benefits overall weren’t bad. They started an ESOP.
Management trying to run the biz into the ground. Too much micromanagement and they won’t spend any money to make money. It seems like the only time they upgrade anything or even paint is when visitors are coming. The ESOP doesn’t mean anything as employees have no power. They don’t train anymore, they don’t listen to employees and they don’t properly plan changes or upgrades. The environment has become toxic and they don’t care
Health insurance was decent. They used to have someone who stocked the company store where they gave employees unsellable merchandise and it was good. They took that away, along with anything they used to do to boost morale or make it seem like they cared.
Not really anything. Many upper positions change frequently. The plant manager of Smyrna brags how he started out as a line operator but he’s obviously forgotten what that’s like. He micromanages instead of letting his supervisors manage and he was fired once just to be brought back after the next guy wasn’t popular with the board.
Make the ESOP mean something. Stock is nice but if employees have zero say so it’s not worth much. Engage the employees and make conditions better for them. Instead of just throwing warm bodies at a line to get product out, get them involved and train them properly. They created a line just to handle rework because it became such a problem.
Had my resume and my work experience. There wasn’t much more than that. It was at a time when they paid to train people in skills that were necessary. Then they scrapped the whole training program
The pay wasnt bad for my position but they changed the titles of all maintenance so they could make them more Freeform to get what they needed done. After awhile your only raise was yearly cost of living which amounted to a couple percent if you were lucky. No job reviews or progress.
They hired anyone. And very strongly went for diversity whether the hired person was the most qualified or not.
I liked being able to work on projects and bring things to my manager that we could fix and that worked. Being able to make a difference for those working on the line
