Job DescriptionOpportunity to lead a Software Engineering organization delivering world-class solutions that enable network authorizations for Discover Financial Services Global Networks. This leader works closely with internal and external partners including Operations, Product, Legal, Risk, Business Development, Information Security, Infrastructure, and fintech partners to provide reliable payment solutions. Responsible for leading the crafting, design, and implementation of the next generation network authorization platform, implementing modern methods and technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Engaging with internal and external business partners to refine requirements and strategies and lead the team to deliver and support technology solutions to meet the market needs.
· Working with peer technology leaders providing input and leadership on the evolution of the technology strategy.
· Working effectively with business leaders to understand and support business imperatives and partner with them to develop, deploy and support IT solutions that maximize business value.
· Working effectively with peers to ensure that both product features and technology objectives, performance metrics, quality measures, and budget targets are achieved.
· Demonstrating the ability to effectively translate strategic business objectives into tactical IT plans, to deliver on those plans in a cost-effective manner, and to provide solutions.
· Demonstrating the ability to use information security best practices in external and internal applications as a preventative measure.
· Continuously improving the application delivery practices, processes and tools, driving further adoption of Agile, Continuous Integration/Delivery, DevOps, and Lean IT practices within the department.
· Develop leadership and technical talent across the department.
· Build strong, highly productive and cohesive teams by your own contribution, professionalism and leadership, building the leadership and management potential while managing the succession planning for the department
· Establishing and managing department budget, including labor, software and hardware costs and expense management.
· Maintaining systems in a highly transactional environment ensuring all applications are running current, and highly available.
· Lead and support all audit and compliance reviews.
· Lead in a dynamic, fast paced, highly regulated, enterprise environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum: Bachelor’s in computer science, IT, Software Engineering, Business
· Preferred: Masters in relevant field
· Minimum: 7+ years Application development, computer systems, software development, programming, or platform development
· Preferred: 12+ years Application development, computer systems, software development, programming, or platform development
