Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the Vice President of Information Technology will serve as a critical member of the senior leadership team and ensure local, regional, and national technology alignment with the Tri-State mission and goals. A key task will be transforming the existing IT environments towards a regionalized delivery model that is service oriented, innovative, and highly collaborative with clinical and business leaders. He/she/they will oversee a department of 190 employees and be accountable for implementing service delivery procedures, introducing performance management standards, increasing employee engagement, optimizing workplace culture, and developing high-performance teams.

The VP will provide tactical, strategic and operational leadership, creating and executing - both regional and national - technology strategies and investment opportunities to accelerate business growth. He/she/they will ensure the applications portfolio and technology roadmap for the organization is reliable, scalable, and flexible. The VP will be expected to create repeatable processes, drive operational excellence, mentor high performing teams, and build a best-in-class technology services environment that enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals. He/she/they will develop trust and confidence with stakeholders and ensure technology delivers exceptional value and maintains high credibility and influence within the organization.

Responsibilities:

The VP will have an exciting set of responsibilities across the region that will encompass the following:


Engage and plan with key business and clinical stakeholders - local, regional and national - to develop appropriate application needs, capacity plans, and technology investment strategies to connect business-level innovation with emerging technologies. Direct network, telecommunication, systems, software and clinical applications infrastructure planning, architecture, and deployment for Tri-State region (alignment with multiple concurrent national initiatives). Uses and improves existing applications assessments and 5-year planning processes. Oversee the development of day-day enterprise standards, technology evaluation and IT governance processes. Works collaboratively with and may lead organization-wide committees, task-forces and/or project teams. Partner with the regional CIO to create annual IT budget separating capital and operating expenses, meeting synergy targets and delivering innovative solutions. Monitor performance against the budget to ensure we meet fiscal targets. Demonstrate business acumen in financial analysis, reporting and forecasting and solid understanding of operations. Assess, evaluates, tests, and selects new and emerging clinical software and applications to support the needs of the region. Provides enterprise-wide direction on the use of emerging technologies for IT. Progressive IT leadership and innovation experience in all aspects of developing technology, change management, and strategy development. Serve as an additional consultant and business liaison, providing top-level guidance and support on the most complex technical project and initiatives Sets standards and ensures repeatable process across the clinical technologies landscape. Actively understands relevant legal, legislative, and policy issues as it relates to technology services. Leads the planning and project management for the migration and replacement of clinical applications, software and operating systems. Professional Experience / Qualifications


The VP will work closely with the regional CIO to provide local, regional and national technology solutions and management of a regional team across three CDOs. He/she/they will possess a broad clinical and business application technologies background but, more importantly, will be a proven technology leader, with demonstrated experience managing people and leading project teams in fast-paced environments. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and trust with a variety of stakeholders. Healthcare experience within a health system or ambulatory clinical setting is required, Epic EHR experience strongly preferred.

The VP must be immediately recognizable as a leader at all levels of the organization, possessing outstanding communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, and able to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad and diverse set of executives and clinicians. He/she must exhibit a strong business orientation and possess a thorough understanding of current healthcare technologies/systems and tools.

Bachelor's degree in a technology-centric field is required. Master's degree is preferred. Minimum 10 years' experience managing and leading high performing, motivated, and agile resources with a robust project portfolio. Extensive knowledge of IT applications, technologies, and systems. Experience with and a detailed understanding of standard systems implementation, programming, integration, conversion, and testing techniques. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and their projects from concept through implementation, ensuring the project is on target both in scope and timeline and desired outcomes were achieved; project experience should include leading multiple corporate-wide projects. Ability to build strong collaborative team-oriented relationships with clinicians, internal and external senior management, senior technical personnel and vendors, and direct reports/teams. Able to effectively communicate and present to all levels of the organization, including senior executive leadership. Demonstrated ability to design, develop and implement executive level strategic plans. Operational knowledge of healthcare clinical and business areas including high-level workflows preferred.
