Vice president-program management job description

This is an opportunity to play a critical role in transforming the way we protect and defend NBCUniversal! As a direct report to the Chief Information Security Officer, you will be part of the leadership team that defines the cyber strategy and tactical priorities for the company.

In this role you'll lead the Cyber Security Program Team consisting of a team of project/program managers who are responsible for driving our most critical and strategic Cyber Security programs across the enterprise

Drive the planning and execution of Cyber Security Program portfolio; accountable for the delivery of all Program KPIs

Own and ensure adoption of core program management lifecycle processes and stage gate discipline (agile & waterfall) across all Cyber Security programs and projects appropriately

Hands-on delivery/leadership of the most critical programs; parachute in to help define a critical path, dive into details, dependency analysis and identification, and resource plans; help escalate issues and propose creative solutions

Seeks to improve the consistency, predictability and efficiency of the organization's program/project delivery capability

Lead the monthly program review to ensure portfolio is well understood, on track, and actioned for success
Own executive status updates, report outs on key delivery metrics and dates

Manage portfolio of program risks and mitigation plans

Ensure programs are delivered on time and on budget, flags when prioritization discussion is required

Build effective, highly collaborative relationships across Operations & Technology Groups to ensure all integrated projects and governance checks and balances are in place

Recruit program advocates across the NBCU organization (internal and external to Cyber Security) to ensure successful implementation and adoption of technology solutions

Integrate and align with all peer organizations (Security Architecture & Engineering, Business ISOs, IAM, etc.)

Manage, mentor and lead a team of project/program managers

Strong sense of commitment, urgency, and sound business sense

Careful listener with the confidence to make crisp and tough decisions about difficult issues; natural propensity to make others feel like their view points and perspectives are adequately considered

Juggle multiple high intensity projects at the same time and react with urgency when necessary

A Vice President, Program Management at Razorfish is equal parts solution shaper, veteran project manager, client problem solver, trusted advisor, sales pursuit leader, business manager and cat herder.

People in this role go beyond just managing large projects or portfolios…they're also player/coaches, facilitators, collaborators, risk mitigators, community builders and expert planners. They're not afraid to color outside the lines or roll up their sleeves.
You will be accountable for

· Delivery of large scale engagements to clients

· Managing the client relationship from a delivery and commercial standpoint

· Framing decisions around business drivers, scope, time, cost and quality.

You may manage one very large client engagement or multiple client engagements.

You can lead solution definition and delivery of complex programs.

· Large multi-disciplinary teams (50-100+ people)

· Seamlessly bring together Razorfish's disciplines (Strategy, Creative, Data, Technology and Marketing Engagement).

· Be the engagement leader ultimately accountable for ensuring an engagement's success and client satisfaction

You develop and maintain executive-level relationships, delivering on our promises (quality and profitability) and building thriving / high-functioning teams.

You're also a leader within the PM discipline helping to strengthen the group at a city, national and even global level through

Key Responsibilities:

Shapes and establishes integrated programs to ensure quality, on-budget delivery

Provides vision, purpose, direction and motivation to team. Clarifies and communicates program objectives and success criteria.

Adapts and applies PM methodologies to meet program objectives and client business drivers.

Clarifies and enforces accountability and goal-setting for project leaders of all domains.

Works closely with client program manager to manage both SapientRazorfish and non-Sapient aspects of the program.

Oversees the development and tracking of integrated estimations, project plans and metrics.

Manages risks to the program, to SapientRazorfish and to the account. Establishes and maintains program communications.

Oversees scope management throughout the project life-cycle.

Accountable for project finances.

Understands legal implications of an engagement. Drives contract negotiations. Ensures the execution of project reviews.

Provides oversight and leadership to engagements of 50-100+ people.

Removes roadblocks to success and acts as an escalation point for executive decisions.

Contributes to PM discipline initiatives focused on consistent delivery quality, growing our PM talent and ensuring collaboration / knowledge sharing.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

As the Platform Simplification Group Technical Program Management people leader, you will play a key role within engineering by having accountability for horizontal and vertical programs that accelerate Citi's journey to our desired target state architecture in support of Citi's business strategy. Your team is on point for planning and organizing the engineering work needed to ship platforms and solutions into production in a well-controlled way. Your group is the hub of getting platform simplification engineering work in, rationalized, conceptualized, assigned, and delivered using a scrum-based execution model.

Your teams contributes to the technical strategies, design choices, execution plans, platforms, associated developer tooling for CI/CD, TDD, and BDD, necessary to deliver the simplified solutions and platforms needed to drive customer intimacy and growth. Your teams have a deep understanding of the platform, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide rich customer experiences while building advanced analytics solutions. You work backwards from the customer and collaborate closely with product and business teams to deliver best experiences and capabilities.

You will encourage teams to decouple from organizational and architectural dependencies, eliminating redundancy, and landing work with the right teams. Working through a boundary-less approach across the organization. You will build your own scorecard to continuously monitor capacity, demand, execution, delivery, and hygiene via key performance indicators including capacity, demand, backlog, velocity, quality, project throughput, spend, regulatory compliance, and application security. You ensure execution aligns with all regulatory requirements while continuously working to simplify and to automate the necessary and auditable "paperwork" and processes. You will need to be a smart risk taker, who can deliver big ideas as well as transform them into scalable programs. This position has exposure to senior members of the organization, where you would be preparing documentation for senior executives and align roadmaps with organizational objectives

You will lead the team from the front by diving deep into business opportunities, engineering challenges and help create believable and achievable plans that deliver commercial success by executing with precision.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
• Hands on experience (10+ years) leading technical teams delivering platform and solutions that simplify the customer, partner and employee experience while also reducing technical complexity by using agile and lean planning and execution techniques.
• Experience driving commercial success by delivering application simplification and modernization initiatives at scale at large complex enterprise.
• Ability to understand and work with technical concepts and creatively apply these concepts to process innovation and business efficiency.
• Experience in conceptualizing, designing and delivery of engineering outcomes & product launches across cross functional teams and domains
• Demonstrated ability to operate with complete independence and autonomy
• Proven ability to develop talent and build a bar raising function & high performing teams.
• Ability to motivate and focus a collaboration to reach challenging goals.
• Can handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, project management, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Can communicate (written and oral) to executives, peers, and staff with eloquence and authenticity
• Prior hands on experience as a hands on principal engineer/ solution architect a big plus.
• Knowledge of modern web architectures, frameworks and micro services patterns a big plus.
