One specialty certification for example, CFRN must be obtained within 2 years of hire is required. 3 years of experience OR 4,000 hours as a RN is required from an ICU or ER setting. Experience as an EastCare Flight Paramedic per department policy may qualify as applicable years of experience. The ability to treat patients under EastCare protocols is determined by the EastCare Medical Director. All employees who were employed as a Flight Nurse and weigh no more than 250 pounds before January 1, 2019, are considered grandfathered in terms of weight requirements, and therefore competent to perform their duties and responsibilities. Any grandfathered employee who vacates their position and later seeks rehire as a Flight Nurse must meet the minimum position requirements existing at the time of rehire.
