This work must be performed with the highest level of accuracy to achieve the expected treatment outcome. The Radiation Therapists are accountable for maintaining daily quality assurance measures on the linear accelerators and other departmental equipment. In addition, the Radiation Therapists instruct radiation therapy students, medical physics graduate students, medical residents, and other healthcare providers on the operation of radiation therapy machines and explain and demonstrate specific procedures and techniques; and provide assistance on cancer research projects. Minimum Requirements * Current RT (R) (T) certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology * American Heart Association BLS Certification * Associate Degree or higher * 10+ years of related experience * Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation and certification eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology. * All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Maintains knowledge of software applications, downtime procedures, image routing, storage, and retrieval as well as facilitating communication to providers, clinical staff and other customers. Monitors PACS, EHR, and PowerShare work lists and assists Radiologists and clinical staff as needed. Minimum Requirements * High school graduate or equivalent (GED) or higher degree required. * One year of relevant customer service or health care experience required. * Excellent oral and written communication skills; advanced problem-solving skills * Professional phone skills and experience * Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
