Preparation of patient for physician arrival, injection, or other office procedure specific to each physician preference. Supports and provides educational material to athletes, coaches, parents, community at large on injury management and prevention. Provides information regarding follow-up services which may include a referral to other physicians or community resources. Prior Authorization management. Responsible for organization and disbursement of incoming medical records, reports, etc. as they arrive at the clinic. Complies with departmental policies for documentation Responsible for taking office notes when directed by physicians. Report of patients/athletes sent to MD, follow-up services ordered and where the service was performed. Room Maintenance and Upkeep Responsible for basic daily and weekly maintenance, general cleanliness, and upkeep of stock in rooms. Responsible for preparation of exam rooms for patient visits and emptying and disposal of biohazard waste and sharps containers as directed. Assists with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies, as needed. Minimum Requirements Master's degree in Athletic Training, with 1 year of clinical experience preferred. In lieu of Master's degree, Bachelor's degree with additional 2 years certified athletic training experience. ATHLETIC TRAINER NC LICENSE. ATHLETIC TRAINER - NATABOC (National Athletic Trainer's Association). BLS Certification. Requires some level of physical activity and lifting as it pertains to ensuring patient transfers to and from exam tables.
