About the Role
WQED Multimedia seeks an imaginative, highly skilled, and self-motivated VideoEditor / Producer to create compelling marketing and promotional content that elevates the WQED brand and connects audiences with our rich variety of programs across television, radio, and streaming platforms.
This creative storyteller will play a key role in helping more people discover the depth and breadth of WQED's offerings-developing fresh, innovative campaigns that highlight our local storytelling, classical music, education, and PBS programming. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, initiative, and a passion for experimenting with new approaches to engage audiences across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
Submissions without a portfolio or work samples will not be reviewed. Please include links showcasing your editing and creative work, along with a cover letter briefly sharing how you would help more neighbors experience all that WQED offers.
This hybrid role requires a collaborative, in-person presence at least three days per week at WQED's studios in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood.
Key Responsibilities
Edit and produce promotional videos-including on-air promos, digital spots, and social content-that highlight WQED's programs, initiatives, and community impact.
Collaborate with producers, marketers, and content teams to develop creative campaigns that build awareness and drive audience engagement.
Design multi-platform promotional content optimized for broadcast, streaming, web, newsletters, and social media.
Create short-form video and motion assets supporting program launches, station events, and community initiatives.
Ensure brand consistency, editorial accuracy, and accessibility across all promotional materials.
Coordinate scheduling and delivery of promos to maximize visibility across WQED's platforms.
Contribute to campaign planning and brainstorming sessions, offering fresh ideas for storytelling and promotion.
Assist with live events and community activations, capturing or editing content as part of broader outreach efforts.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced production workflows while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in video production, marketing, or a related field.
Strong editing skills with a demonstrated ability to craft engaging, brand-aligned promotional content.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere or comparable professional editing software required.
Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus.
Familiarity with audio production tools (e.g., Sequoia or Pro Tools) and podcasting workflows beneficial but not required.
Experience creating and optimizing content for social and digital platforms, with an understanding of analytics and engagement strategies.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across marketing, production, and digital teams.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, hourly position with a pay range of $29.00-$36.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Benefits include a PPO health insurance plan; employer-paid dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; and-after 12 months-a 5% employer contribution to a 403(b) retirement plan.

The ideal candidate will be a master of video technology, adept in both on-set shooting and producing, as well as editing engaging and dynamic video assets using the Adobe suite. As one of our go-to in-house video experts, you will play a pivotal role in the operations of our in-office studio, contributing to the creation of exceptional video content for both the agency and our diverse clientele.
This is a hybrid role based in Philadelphia, and this person must be available to work in-office/in-studio and on-location for scheduled shoots, as well as collaborate with the creative team across pre-production, post-production, and other creative touchpoints.
This part-time, contract position is planned for ~25 hours per week, with a preference for set, recurring availability during standard business hours (for consistency and collaboration), plus additional flexibility for scheduled shoot needs (which may occasionally occur early mornings, evenings, or weekends). * Conceptualize, strategize, and execute the creation of multimedia institutional marketing initiatives incorporating elements such as copy, photo, video, social media, and web, including annual campaigns profiling new faculty and graduating seniors.
* Contribute strategic thinking for content planning, publications, and college initiatives.
* Collaborate with the website manager to plan and produce strategic website content and conduct regular audits to identify areas for content creation and enhancement.
* Utilize Drupal CMS to create and edit website pages and content.
* Conduct keyword research and apply SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines.
* Adhere to the college's editorial standards for quality and style, generally following Associated Press style and McDaniel-specific style guidelines.
* Edit written content submitted by colleagues from around campus.
* Edit daily email and text communications to prospective, admitted, and deposited students and families.
* Conduct thorough research and fact-checking.
* When necessary, write obituaries for impactful members of the McDaniel community.
* Demonstrate exemplary customer/client service at all times and work collaboratively with all campus schools, divisions, and departments as well as alumni and athletics groups.
* Take initiative by proposing and executing new communications opportunities to keep the flow of content fresh and interesting.
* Attend and support college events as needed, including those in the evening and on weekends.

* Accept and complete the confidentiality statement yearly if access includes restricted data.
* Report any suspected data breach to the CIO and the IT Help Desk as soon as possible.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, or related field.
* A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in writing and content creation for a variety of print and digital media.
* Higher education experience preferred.
* Working knowledge of SEO and web content best practices a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demanding initiatives concurrently, balancing multiple priorities, working with minimal supervision and meeting deadlines.
* Demonstrated experience utilizing content management systems and other technological communication tools and methodologies, including Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office products.
* Demonstrated ability to produce content for a wide range of audiences, in a wide range of styles across all marketing and communications channels (please include a minimum of two writing samples with your cover letter and resume).
* Strong understanding of the requirements of writing for web vs. print materials and ability to adapt writing for multiple platforms.
* Excellent project management skills; must be able to work collaboratively to complete projects on deadline and within budget.
* Excellent writing skills with expert attention to detail, often within tight deadlines.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented work style.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely working in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions. THE PROJECT
Legends has partnered with the University of Nebraska Foundation to support annual fundraising for the University's campuses. Legends Global will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan to help grow contributions amongst existing donors and identify new annual donors, by leveraging digital and social media outreach campaigns, database marketing, inbound / outbound phone calls and face-to-face meetings. Heavy emphasis on incorporating data analytics and insights and new technologies (i.e. online giving platforms, sales automation) to help innovate approach to growing overall contributions.
THE ROLE
The primary function of the Video/Production Content Intern is to perform multimedia duties and responsibilities for the Legends Marketing team in support of University of Nebraska's Advancement Marketing Communications team. By assisting with strategic and tactical implementation of projects, under the supervision of the Manager, Marketing this position is responsible for creative project support to engage and connect donors and non-donors with the university and bring them into the fold. The core support areas are video production and graphic design. Additionally, the Video/Production Content Intern will also work on digital, print, and social media efforts and will play a key role in content generation. The Video/Production Content Intern is expected to understand digital and social media strategy and have strong project management, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving ability; and be highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a fluid and changing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates and edits video content for various communication channels and audiences.
Supports video generation through coordination of concepts, pre-production, production, and post-production.
Designs visual elements for email, direct mail, social media, ads, and video.
Provides digital, print and video project support in collaboration with colleagues across the university.
Understand, retain, and incorporate critical brand guidelines and standards into all content produced.
Understand and translate institutional best practices into video and design elements including but not limited to ADA user-accessibility protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
