What You'll Do
Provide direction and leadership for activities involved in editing and finishing audio and visual content and features to be delivered by web, broadcast, streaming, or other media forms. Part Time Teaching Video Production Specialist
Function: The Teaching Video Production Specialist will do pre-project planning of the video production process, working closely with youth. The Teaching Video Production Specialist will create videos in conjunction with Club Youth for PSAs, web-based programming, and social media. The Teaching Video Production Specialist will oversee the post production and final video project which includes video creation process and involves the final editing, proofing, and development of a recorded video.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES: (not all-inclusive)
- Show creative expertise and strong technical skills by helping youth participants produce engaging videos that show the youth voice.
- Create stories through video that will make an impact and tell stories.
- Create a daily studio operations checklist and maintain it.
- Collaborates with subject matter consultants
- Ensures lighting positions, sound enhancements, and proper recording equipment are in place to capture the best images in a variety of locations.
- Post-Production making editorial decisions – what to keep, what to cut, and ensuring all of the technical elements create a video that meets client or project goals.
- Ensure to add music, graphics, and animation, develop, edit and upload/manage video content.
- Maintains inventory and request order supplies with supervisor.

Salary: based on experience and location (up to $64,800 for Washington, DC)
Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Video Production Manager will be responsible for creating short-form videos in support of NPCA's mission and campaigns, with a primary emphasis on engaging, entertaining and discoverable content optimized for placement on YouTube. The Manager will have primary responsibility for identifying opportunities, researching and storyboarding, procuring footage, editing and releasing video content. The Manager must be able to set and meet deadlines to ensure regular content releases.
Collaborating with the rest of the Communications team, the Manager will assist in planning and managing large-scale video projects created by outside contractors as well as social video (i.e., TikTok and Reels). The Manger will also be responsible for capturing new footage as appropriate, using NPCA's digital videography equipment, with some travel required.
