Responsibilities:
Fit, align, and prepare steel plates, frames, and structural components

Summary:
We have an opening for a Welder position who will need to be diversified and also take care of other pipeline responsibilities. This position will support all pipeline operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Knowledgeable of industry related safety practices and use of safety equipment, including fire suppression equipment, personal protective equipment, safety guards etc.
* Proficient in all phases of welding including, but not limited to: pipeline welding, general equipment repair, layout, fitting and planning
* Performs complete layout, cutting, fitting and fabricating to completion of manifold piping, structural and flat work, and equipment repairs
* Selects materials, fittings and the type of welding rod to be used
* Performs routine maintenance on welding equipment
* Obtain OQ qualifications to mark underground facilities and process one call tickets in adherence to state laws and company procedures
* Obtain other OQ task as needed
* Perform operation and maintenance activities on natural gas pipelines\
* Trouble shoot pipeline systems
* Participate in rotating on-call schedule
* Patrol pipelines as needed - maintain pipeline markings
* Basic map reading and Global Positioning System (GPS) skills
* Ability to read and utilize drawings, schematics, alignment sheets and P&ID drawings
* Must plan, organize and prioritize assigned responsibilities. Work independently as liaison between Energy Transfer Partners and outside entities i.e. landowners, emergency response agencies, contractors and other pipeline companies.

* Proficient in welding, fabrication, materials troubleshooting and repairs.

* Assists Engineering with modifications/revisions to plant systems, equipment and/or components.
* Demonstrates and conducts any required inspections/post-maintenance testing of systems, equipment and components as necessary to complete work packages and ensures systems, equipment and components are returned to

* Assists other crafts in performing mechanical maintenance tasks that are beyond the maintenance department's capability. Provides technical support for this work.

General Purpose of the Position:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality programs and policies. Responsible for and actively manages IGS field services personnel and communications with clients while building and maintaining interpersonal relationships. Serves as a specialized resource within Hot-Tek/Tube tech (Americas) field services personnel, possessing and implementing unique skills or knowledge to support Hot-tek/Tube tech applications in specific client facilities or using specialized Hot-Tek/Tube tech equipment. Support customer relations and communication, scope and quality management, demobilization, and post project review for Hot Tek and Tube Tech projects from a site location within the quoted time and budget. Understand IGS product and service offerings and how they relate to solving client problems for customer equipment and processes; support growth of strong customer relationships.
Provides feedback to IGS management team for safety, quality and technical training needs. Supports IGS strategic growth objectives through execution of quality projects that directly impact the scalability and efficacy of IGS. Works under the direction of the assigned Team Leaders and Project Manager while on the project. Acts as a liaison to the Team Leaders and Project Manager for specialized field of knowledge, identifying additional work and upsell opportunities based on industry experience.

The welder welds together metal components of products such as Drilling Rigs, pre-fabricated structural braces, vehicles, and heavy equipment with (SMAW) shield metal arc Welding, (GMAW) Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Oxy-acetylene welding. Gathers dimensions and lays them out on structural steel structures i.e. installation of conductor, Braiden-head, casing cut-offs, plug and abandon.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Welding Preparation: Obtains specified electrode, based on criteria of raw goods being welded; inserts electrode into rod holder or feed wire "consumable" through welding gun. Attach ground clamp from welding machine to work piece, to dial in the adequate amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, to known standards. Start engine driven welding machine / electric welding machine to produce desired amps. Scratch start arc to generate heat to produce a molten puddle depositing filler metal from electrode to work piece; to join edges of work piece. Preheats work piece with hand torch or heating furnace where applicable. Positions and clamps work pieces together to assemble them on a jig or fixture. Tacks / welds assemblies together.
Welding: Manually guides electrode or gun along beveled or fillet edge, maintaining length of arc and speed, to form specified depth of fusion, width, and convex of weld on welded fixture, visually judged by color of base metal i.e. stainless, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions on plate.
Post Welding Duties: Cleans slag of weld joint. Visually examines weld on i.e. bead size, bead crown convex/concave, porosity, and undercut according to AWS welding specifications. Repairs out of code equipment/raw goods, i.e. broken, cracked parts and fills cavity. Prepares parts for non-destructive testing (NDT); chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter.

Weld metal components together to fabricate products according to engineering drawings or work orders.
Ability to manipulate heat during the welding process to maintain nozzles & couplings to the right level and degrees.
Ability to know how to adjust min/ max tolerance gaps to start the welding process to maintain the welded components within tolerance.
Ability to make a full penetration on nozzle to shell that doesn't require back weld by welding specification.
