Cleveland Metroparks is seeking a Conservation Stewardship Intern to support the Legal department. This role is responsible for monitoring property boundaries and conservation easements, documenting stewardship observations, and reporting potential property encroachments. The intern creates and updates property boundary maps using GIS, conducts field visits to verify mapped conditions or issues reported by park staff, and communicates findings. The position also involves drafting reports and correspondence that summarize stewardship observations, as well as assisting with other Real Estate and Planning functions as assigned. The Natural Resources Specialist 2 is a mid-level, experienced field worker seasonal position that assists Natural Resources Division staff in day-to-day or project related management, i.e., maintenance and restoration, or research and monitoring of the natural resources in Cleveland Metroparks and northeastern Ohio. Works in the Watershed Management program to assist with hydrologic and physical stream monitoring as part of district-wide aquatic ecosystem assessments and resource management. Reports to Stream Restoration Ecologist at West Creek Reservation. Works at reservations across the Cleveland Metroparks District. The position reports to the Vegetation Research Coordinator at West Creek Reservation; however, will work at reservations across Cleveland Metroparks. Housing may be available. Responsibilities: Participates as a member of a 3-person field crew led by the Field Botanist. Assists in navigating to, setting up and sampling 0.1 hectare (20 m x 50m) permanent vegetation sampling plots. Records and maintains accurate, well-organized data in written and electronic format. Safely operates and maintains equipment including but not limited to forestry measurement tools, portable data collectors, and other related equipment. Prepares plant voucher specimens and soil samples.

The Invasive Plant Management Lead reports to the Invasive Plant Coordinator at West Creek Management Center. This position works in reservations across entire Park District. The Invasive Plant Management Lead must be able to utilize hand tools such as loppers, pruning shears, and forestry brush cutters, and carry 40-pound packs for up to 8 hours per day. Preference will be given to those with previous experience with pesticide application, mixing chemicals, and pesticide certification. Comfort working individually and independently is a must.
